Another good performance for Liverpool under Klopp, and a decent result. Liverpool were organized, incisive, worked hard and the defense held. Against this, the finishing was meh, and it must be pointed out that the opposition were not much to write home about.

Can Klopp buck the usual trend and get a win in the league the weekend after a Europa League Thursday in Russia? Crystal Palace are a good team, much better than today's opponents...it will be Klopp's toughest match yet.

Celtic beaten by Molde, they continue to look very ordinary in Europe against mediocre competition.

That really is hilarious! :D

What would have been funnier, is if he was booked for diving and the goal disallowed :p

Could have been a typical Müller goal imo. Probably even planned.

Btw.: Kalou <3

Crazy stat from him: he shot 13 times on the goal this season (cup and league) and scored 10 goals! Glad he came back strong as last season was absolutely lackluster and I had serious doubts he would fit into our squad at all. Also Dardai convinced me since I had doubts re him just as well. Good times in Berlin right now.

World cup 2018 Update**
Team Colombia has 5 new players are ready for the WC Qualifiers game vs. Argentina on Nov. 12
Cuadrado will be out due to a red card and Falcao is out due to injury.

Glad that Man U got the win today!

Who would have that Chelsea would go down the tubes like they are doing!

:(

We clearly hadn't recovered from Bayern. Very leggy. But i'll take the point given the performance and what Wenger had at his disposal to work with.

Still pee'd off though.

I hope we get Isco or someone cos Cazorla can't play through a whole season anymore. Arteta/Flamini are past it. And we can't keep waiting for Jack.

I just hope its not too late before Sanchez, Bellerin, Walcott, Ox and Ramsey return.

Considering they were overrun for most of the match Arsenal did well to get a point. But today's first XI and subs show their squad is quite light at the moment.

Sanchez started the match didn't he? I don't remember him getting subbed either..

And didn't Spurs play in the EL on Thursday? I don't think you can blame the CL game for looking "leggy"

IMHO Arteta never really had the caliber for the ambition Arsenal should have. Has he ever delivered in the CL ?
When playing FIFA he always is some sort of miracle player but when seeing him play in reality he is an utter disappointment as a defensive midfielder.
Flamini was better at his first Arsenal stint. I feel he has stagnated the last years.

At the top level having an excellent DM player is crucial, and it has been weak spot since years. The first position where a new signing should be made. Just imagine if Arsenal would have bought somebody like Javier Martinez ...

In the case of Sanchez i was talking about form/sharpness. He's gone off the boil

As for EL, Spurs didn't have to travel, didn't play against the best team in the world and get battered, and are younger all round.

Arteta is a product of when Arsene had less money to spend. Flamini was a free deal essentially. Unfortunately there's a shortage of top DM mostly because the game now favours deep lying playmakers that can tackle more than out and out enforcers. Krychowiak has signed a new deal. Carvalho seems to be owned by everybody except Sporting and isn't the finished product. We maybe should've gone for Schneiderlin but he hasn't exactly been a revelation.

I'm happy with Coquelin but we need backup and we need someone to play with him going forward.

Columbus 3-1 Montreal (aet, 4-3 aggregate)

An awesome result for Columbus, and karmic given Drogba's antics in the first leg. A big win in a big game and now we face New York (we beat them in 2008 to take the league title) in the conference finals.

Meanwhile, in the Premier League:

A bad result for Liverpool, but the performance has been no worse than the last couple matches. Palace are in the top ten for a reason, and apart from the finishing not too much to complain about. Liverpool dominated long stretches but had a lot of sterile possession. Klopp has steadied the ship, but now people are going to expect further improvements.

Man Utd still getting results, but in terms of playing style they look a shadow of what they were during the Ferg years. They are solid and have an expensive squad, but they are no longer scary.

Man City drew today so Arsenal's 1-1 with Spurs is a decent a result, especially after the drubbing in Germany. But Wenger's squad is looking a bit threadbare. They can't afford to pick up more injuries.

Dodgy goal for Montreal and penalty for Columbus - Kamara should've taken it using his head. Finlay looks a handful. Good luck in the finals.

Manchester United - seems LVG is aware of the need for a winger. When Ferguson sides had a bad patch he would go defensive; sort the defence, next midfield, then return to attacking play. I think LVG is going through the stages.

Cheers,
OW

When Kamara missed that PK I almost had a stroke.

Finlay has really had a breakout season. Very fast and willing to take a player on 1v1. His strike rate is excellent for a midfielder. He actually seemed off his game in this series, it could be lack of big-game experience. There has been talk of a USA call-up (he is also eligible for Canada), though so far Klinsmann has not given him an opportunity. At 25 he is not exactly young, but he still has plenty of career left in him.

Finlay and right fullback Harrison Afful give the Crew a blisteringly quick right-sided attack, one that has been a big factor in getting us this far. Afful is also an excellent crosser of the ball, just what Kei Kamara needs to make his runs into the box count. With Justin Meram on the left, Columbus have speedy men with dangerous shots on both wings. In Kamara, they have a great finisher and big presence up top, and in Higuain they have a seriously experienced playmaker with an excellent touch and vision (though I think he is now just about the slowest player in the world...I mean SLOW). Just don't ask us to win penalty shootout.

Also not sure why but our coach has frozen out Austrian defender Emmanual Pogatetz, instead bringing in the Argentinian Gaston Sauro midseason (banned for our next game), who has, to be fair, been a revelation.

Ronaldo would be a good addition...it's been years since the league was tormented by his 25-stepover face-offs with opposition defenders out wide...he seems to be boring himself to death in Spain. All he cares about anymore is how many more Ballon d'Or's he can collect than Messi. Week after week of scoring hat-tricks against obliging no-hoper opposition. What he needs is the proverbial cold, rainy night in Stoke.

Seriously though, and as much as I hate to say it, LVG may be boring at the moment, but under him there is little worry of Man Utd falling out of the top four. At worst he will keep them solid enough to stay in the CL positions. I'm still slightly baffled at his insistance on playing Rooney as the central striker at times. He grabs the odd goal but he can't demolish meat and potatoes premier league sides anymore. Martial should be in that role every minute as long as he's fit to play. But given their defensive solidity, Man Utd are one Jamie Vardy away from a serious title challenge.

I am a big fan of Real Madrid and Manchester United.
I am not so sure about MANU but I am sure that Real Madrid is going to win this La Liga.
