Arsenal are 1-0 up after Aubameyang finished a nice team move...but I still give them a very small chance of winning against Cheater Gulf State Shill FC. The Gunners always make a big defensive error at least once during the match, so I suspect they will need to score 1-2 more goals to win. But we shall see.

Ah.

Almost worse than falling behind by a goal, is scoring so early in a game. At least, when that slim lead is defended by Arsenal.

For now, Arsenal lead by a goal to nil, and had almost scored a minute earlier.

Bellerin really needs to focus more on football, and less on fashion. Albeit, I get he is setting up himself for post football.
But...

Could you imagine the phone conversation between Pep and Arteta, yesterday/last night?
"Pep, let me have this one, you got a good judgement this week, we need this..." - LOL

Arsenal still ahead, and Man City haven't quite taken the match by the horns yet, but their subs may change things. Man City will lay siege to their opponent's goal before the end. Arsenal should probably have scored two in the first half, they will come to rue that I fear. But I'd be happy to be wrong.

...and as I type that pessimistic prediction Aubameyang scores again! Arsenal really have a shot now. But there is still almost a half hour left when you factor stoppage. Time for Luiz & Co. at the back to earn their wages.

Two points: Arsenal played very well and richly deserved their win. But, perhaps Man City are suffering from a bit of ennui? They showed flashes of their dominant potential but were flat at times and just weren't good enough.

Chelsea or Man Utd are perhaps still favorites but an Arsenal cup triumph looks at least possible and that would be a huge feather in Arteta's cap.

EDIT: Ugh, I can't believe I am saying this but I hope anyone apart from City win the Champions League, even Bayern...apart from Real Madrid; I couldn't stomach that any better, and the Madridistas don't need any more titles anyway. Ever since that CAS decision in Man City's favor I'd prefer they lose every match they play from now till their owners change.

Indeed an FA cup win for Arsenal would go a huge way for making up for a pretty poor season by Arsenal standards.

I understand Leeds is back in the Premier League next year after a long absence. Not sure they will do well.
Indeed. As champions. We will see, but it’s a big step up from one league to the next.

I don't know whether Leeds will have what it takes to stay in the Premier League, but they are a Bielsa team - and that means whatever happens it will be entertaining!

Contrast Arteta beating his mentor with Steve Bruce's abysmal record against Ferguson. Poor Brucie could always be relied upon to roll over and get his belly scratched against his old master.

True. Arteta knows his opponents both underperformed a bit, but this is important momentum and could go a long way toward seeing the team gel into something greater than the sum of its parts. I like Arteta and I hope he can push on from here - bearing in mind, though, that Arsenal will always be outspent by the Manchester clubs, Chelsea, and Liverpool in all probability.

And Arsenal need to do whatever it takes to keep Aubameyang.

On current form Columbus look like possible contenders....though during our opening group match against Cincinnati we lost one of our two first choice center backs for the rest of the tournament. Zardes and Zelarayán are both in scoring form, and midfielders like Arthur, Mokhtar, and Santos are all fashioning chances for them. Atlanta just lost to Cincy, who are a dumpster fire, so that bodes well for CBus' next match. LAFC are the big favorites for the cup though.

The positive tests seem to have trailed off, is it possible MLS have righted the ship? I remain pretty skeptical, but hopeful...
