A few years back West Ham had no shirt sponsor. I really liked that top as it said West Ham, not some company I have no interest in endorsing. I rarely where my football tops though. My mum used to buy me one for a birthday or Christmas some years, but we don't anymore.
Plus its really only something I want to wear at a game and its been ages since I went to one.

I haven't bought a new Liverpool shirt since 2005. I'm thinking about picking one up now.

So, with the season over, what exactly am I supposed to do now?

Start watching Major League Soccer, of course! Columbus face Minnesota in the Round of 16 tonight. I was certain the MLS is Back Tournament would be a COVID disaster, but after the initial issues no further positive test have appeared and the tournament has entered the knockout phase. The Bubble, so far, has held.

Already working on next years fixture list at work. 19 teams plus one TBC.

I really liked the classic (and plain) shirt that Manchester City wore last August in the Charity Shield.

Agreed. And I could imagine our owners would have done the same. But it’s not part of football I like or enjoy.

Inequality is rising in the sport. The financial implications of promotion, relegation, and qualifying / getting knocked out of cups are becoming colossal. And yet those results could turn on blown calls, freak goals, red cards, etc. The longer this goes on the more likely clubs will feel the need to turn to the courts for compensation.

Oh goodie. We need another London club!

Looks like the Saudi take over of Newcastle isn't going to happen. I'd love to see a fans consortium buy the club, but I think those days are long gone.
As nice as a fan takeover seems, you need money and lots of it to compete in the Prem and Toon are a big club. They need cash and they need it from someone like the Saudis or Russians.

Also - nice to see Steve Bruce is being acknowledged for his part in their eventual decent finish to the season.

Fulham vs Brentford will be interesting. Two of the smaller London clubs playing the richest game in the world.
The consequences of NOT winning that game are so immense, the pressure on the players must be excrutiating.
The playoffs are a nightmare.

I recall the play off games we were in as being very nervy.

Sad isn't it. :(
Sad that Mike Ashley is still going to be involved.

Gianni Infantino is under federal investigation by the Swiss government.

Let's be frank - FIFA is corrupt, and its leaders and executive committee members are a rogues gallery of wealthy crooks, lairs, swindlers, and their various hangers-on. This is not in doubt - but between being careful, having high-power legal teams, plenty of money, and friends in high places (who are themselves dirty and thus open to blackmail), these criminals are rarely punished.

I don't expect anything to come of this investigation but there is always hope. And it demonstrates that the cleanout of Sepp Blatter & Co has not cleared the stench of corruption that looks set to hang over FIFA for, well, ever.

Sad that Mike Ashley is still going to be involved.

I sympathize with Newcastle fans, but 2020 is a year where everyone has been faced with a series of unsatisfactory alternatives in their lives, and football is no exception. Ashley is a boorish, drunken, provocative lout of a man - but at least he doesn't oversee programs of political repression, torture, and assassination. Saudi Arabia's ruling family does.

I hope that they eventually find new owners worthy of the club.

So, with the season over, what exactly am I supposed to do now?

I guess review all the transfer rumours of the players we CANNOT buy

Well the King is dead long live the King? The new season is supposed to start in just over a week so I guess we just continue?

My bad, looked like not posted, finger trouble on the keys, but it did.

I don't feel so bad about it, TBH. Who doesn't fancy an away trip to the quaint and historic Craven Cottage? And Brentford hasn't had top flight football since the 1940s?

Most Americans have a soft spot for Fulham; they've had some star USA players on their books over the years - Brian McBride, Carlos Bocanegra, Clint Dempsey, Marcus Hanneman, and a few others. No USA fan will forget Dempsey's sensational chipped goal for Fulham against Juventus in the Europa League.
