Wow.

Gosh.

3-2 to Arsenal at the last gasp - an own goal (deflected off the back of his head) by Aston Villa's keeper, Emi Martínez, World Cup winner, an ex-Arsenal player, and, a superb goalie but a general pain in the privates as a human being, following an excellent shot by Jorginho.

wow, tough OwnGoal from GK Martinez, but his time wasting cost Villa a few minutes,
which Arsenal took advantage of.
that was a funny goal tho....off the bar, keepers head and into the ol' Onion bag!

That was entertaining.

Martinez got served x2

Emi Martínez was acting the goat (and had already been booked for time wasting) - and has done so on a number of occasions since the World Cup - so I have little sympathy for him.

A superb goalie, (most of the time, and I used to regret that Arsenal had sold him) but less than wholly admirable as a human being.

Anyway, an excellent victory for Arsenal, who ended the game very strongly.

On the topic of goal-keepers, Ramsdale was superb today for Arsenal.

We moan (or lament) the loss of some excellent players (Jesus, Partey) to injury, and celebrate those who score goals, but Ramsdale made some superlative (and yes, match-saving) saves, today.

Chelsea, Brighton, and Wolves losing, whilst City draw.

Madness. Is that Potter on the brink then.

Liverpool do Man Utd a massive favor by ensuring Karius will be between the sticks for Newcastle when the two teams meet. 😂

I feel for Karius actually, and it would be good to see him play well. But he’s been given a brutal debut now.

'Pool now 6pts off top 4 with their big guns returning to fitness. Newcastle all of a sudden could really struggle for the remainder of the season

An impressive victory by Manchester United (3-0 to United) against Leicester; in a way, this margin of victory looks more emphatic than it actually was, as Leicester played very well in the first half and were unfortunate not to have converted any of their chances.

The always wonderful (as a person, and irrespective of his form on the football pitch, for, I'm a big fan of Rashford, who is a terrific human being) Marcus Rashford is fully back to his best on the pitch, while goalkeeper De Gea also had a superb game.

So many United fans are still ready to turn the page from De Gea. He’s not the most modern keeper in the league, though he has improved on distribution and crosses noticeably this season, but United owe today’s three points entirely to him. Two top class saves to keep Leicester out until United could grab control of the match.

I was definitely worried about dropping points today, but this team have become real mentality monsters under ETH. Got to keep things rolling against Barça and Newcastle next.
