Fulham gave them more fight than Arsenal.
Yes, but firstly, we lacked both Saliba, and Takehiro Tomiyasu (who yes, does appear to be rather prone to injury) due to injury.

And secondly, this match was a must win for City, one for which they were exceptionally motivated, and playing at home. They delivered a master-class.

And, as @Apple fanboy rightly remarks, City were without KBD today, and were playing away.

Yes but Man City without KDB are not quite as a frightening prospect. He is their talisman.
Agreed.

Liverpool have fallen asleep, (to Klopp's fury) and - no surprise - Harry Kane has pulled one back.

Of greater concern, Spurs created a few very good chances - Son hit the post, for example, and also had a shot cleared off the line - in the period just before half time.

Spurs right back in it.

Pretty wild seeing Bournemouth level on points with Chelsea.
Spurs back in it, yes, and Liverpool responding with wild lunges, sundry fouls, and what the Guardian has eloquently described as "a rustic challenge".

And Spurs - having threatened for an age - equalise in the 93rd minute.

Wow.

Liverpool restore their lead in the 94th minute.

This has been an off-season for everyone apart from Man City and Arsenal.

Liverpool have been bad. Spurs have been bad. Man Utd have been bad. Very inconsistent for various reasons. Yet they are all in the top 6.

Very Spursy Spurs today. One of Liverpool’s few solid stats this year is that they have led the field in retaining points from winning positions. They threw away a big lead today but not the result.

It’s harder now to ‘do a Leeds’ but Everton may demonstrate it is still possible. If they go down there is no guarantee the current organization can get them back up quickly or at all.

I think Villa and Brighton would disagree. It’s not all about the greedy six thank goodness.

Yes, I think that Southampton are in deep trouble, and will be astonished to see them survive.

They have only managed six victories all season; another two wins (which are vanishingly unlikely) will still not see them safe, as they are seven points from safety, as @Apple fanboy points out.

Indeed, in order to secure any degree of safety, they will need to win three games - having won only six all season - with only five games remaining, - a tall order - and that still does not take into account what the other teams threatened by relegation will achieve in the meantime.

Yes, I agree that Wolves, and the teams above them, are probably safe, and I also think that West Ham - barring a disastrous sequence of results for them, and for others in their vicinity, - are probably also safe, as they are currently on 34 points, four points ahead of their closest relegation threatened rival, with five teams sitting immediately below them in the table.

Everton, with a mere six victories to their name all season, are also in deep trouble.
Saints are absolutely gone - especially with the current gaffer, who seems hell-bent on making baffling substitutions to ensure defeat from an evenly-poised position. He did it against Arsenal and he did it again today at Toon.
There may be a mathematical chance of safety, but Saints have been dead men walking for some time. Appointing Jones sealed our fate.
Everton are also gone, I believe. They don't seem to have the self-belief that is required to battle relegation, despite their new gaffer.

It's really just a race between Leeds, Leciester and Forest at this stage for who will join the other two.

Leicester bump up out of the drop zone on GD. Both Leicester and Everton have some good players, but are truly dreadful teams.

Vardy - at 36 - is still able to score from play, while Everton have suffered a serious blow with Coleman suffering what seems to be a serious injury.

Wow.

There are three teams (in descending order, Leicester, Leeds and Nottingham Forest) on 30 points, and Everton, hovering just below them on 29.

Then, five points adrift, on 24 points, in bottom place, lies Southampton.

Probably the best result for West Ham.

Man City are now top with a game in hand. For months many have said the title was Arsenals to lose. Now City are top with a points lead and a game in hand, would people now be saying the league title is for city to lose? If City stay injury free over the 2 leg champions league games against Real Madrid then I think City could go on to win the league because with a full squad of fit players I cannot see them dropping points.

Wow wow wow, what can I say about Saturday other than it was one of the best days of my life after many years of suffering as an Ipswich fan.

I got to Portman Road around 1pm ready for the coach gathering, expecting there to be only 1-200 people but the streets were full of fans with flags, flares etc ready to greet the team coach as it arrived at the stadium. What a moment it was when it did, It felt like a Champions League semi-final at Anfield rather than a game in League One!

I had nerves, but this Ipswich team we have make it extremely difficult to have any nerves because we are that good. 5-0 up within 32 minutes and our first promotion for 23 years was secured.

A simply incredible day in the sunshine. Walking through the town centre in the evening all you could hear was 'We've got super Kieren McKenna' everywhere you walked. The pubs & bars were full with celebratory fans.

Back in the Championship after 4 years away. 13 wins in 14 and unbeaten in 18. We will have to invest further to push on in the Championship but there's no reason we can't be pushing for top 10 next season and hopefully further after that.

Oh, and we could win the League One title on Sunday!

Even City can drop points (they wouldn't have trailed behind Arsenal for the entire season - since the second game until this past week-end - otherwise).

However, given the prize that awaits them if they don't, I will concede that I think it unlikely that they will drop too many points.

More to the point, I am not sure that I can rely on Arsenal to secure all of the points from their remaining fixtures.

In fact, I think that City can afford to drop points, because I do not see Arsenal - who have stuttered over the final games of the season for the past few seasons, a fault, or an issue that needs to be addressed - successfully securing all of the points in their remaining games.

Not bad for ex Man Utd assistant manager. His first full season at Ipswich and he gets them promoted. As for the other bit, you honestly think Ipswich can be pushing for top 10 in the championship next season?? It would have to take some serious investment to do that. Does the club have the funds to be able to dig deep into the transfer market?

Congratulations and the best of luck in the Championship next season.

I agree with @laptech: Should you push for further promotion next season (well, ambition is always considered laudable)?

Or, might it not be better to consolidate your position in the Championship - re resources, players, finances, investment - and then, after a further year or so, try to push for further promotion?

It is not just a question of whether you are able to do so, but whether it is wise to want to do so.
