Well well well, did not see that coming.

Moyes really has gotten Everton going again.

I guess the powers that be wanted to keep things 'fair' between EFC and LFC

41 wins each, and 38 draws.

On another note, i see the Michael Oliver effect is spreading to other clubs, not just Arsenal moaning then.

Overall LFC still in prime position with 7pt advantage

-----------

I don't think it means anything to us. Our entire frontline have torn their hamstrings...even whilst on holiday. For me nothing has really changed.

And we didn't sign anyone in Jan. The hierarchy has displayed a level of incompetence. They've lost Edu, left the squad threadbare, and not even managed to secure a loan deal reinforcement in Jan, to help the manager compete.

If the board don't bring in a minimum of 2 midfielders, and 3 forwards (including a striker) in the summer, they would've failed spectacularly.

And if Arteta doesn't win at least 2 trophies next season (including the EPL), then personally, i'm done trusting the process.

Not entirely sure what the unfortunate fact of the entire forward line tearing their hamstrings (even on holiday, or a sun soaked break) says about the team (whether it is the training, or, that what is asked of them in terms of games played, hours on the pitch, and the style of game played - high pressing - is excessive), but this is something that the management may need to take a long, close, hard look at.

That legendary quote from Lady Bracknell - suitably amended for the current circumstances - rather irresistibly, comes to mind: To lose one player to a hamstring injury in the course of a season (for the duration of the season) is unfortunate; to lose at least three players to a hamstring injury in the course of a season (for the duration of the entire season) sounds like carelessness.

What the hell has Moyes done to Everton!!!!. Since his arrival they have not lost in the league. The only loss since his arrival was the defeat in the FA Cup 4th round. They were extremely close to relegation and now they are above United and Spurs!!!.

Being above United and Spurs hardly makes you a long way from relegation these days!
But joking apart Moyes is a good manager. I wish him well when its not at our expense.

Starting to look good now. Another 3-4 wins, or thereabouts, and we _should_ be safe. Barring one year since Premier League were reduced to 20 teams, 40 points have been enough to survive...

Now, of course, just thinking that could quite possibly jinx it...

Today passed away the charismatic ex-president of FC Porto and the most successful president of all time.
Jorge Nuno Pinto Costa during his 42 year tenure (1982-2024) won including all sports more than 1300 titles.
In football the highlights are 23 leagues (including the first five in a row), 2 European Champion Leagues, 2 UEFA/Europa Leagues and 2 Intercontinental Cups.
Not my club president, always controversial but if you are a Portuguese fan it's difficult to imagine Football without him.

I wouldn’t mind Man United getting relegated. 🫣
Not going to happen this season. There is only 8 games left and with the points difference between United and Ipswich (12pts) it would require Ipswich to win 4 games and draw one out of the 8 and for United to lose 5 games out of the 8 for United to get relegated. With the games coming up for United losing 5 games is a strong possibility but Ipswich to win 4 and draw one out of the last games games? impossible. This season could end up being United's worst in the history of the club (prior to them getting relegated back in the 70's)

Thankfully there are four clubs that are clearly worse than United.

No Amad, no Mainoo, no competent strikers, no technically proficient keeper, no midfielders with any legs, a bench full of kids in the first team squad for the first time. Yeah, it's brutal.

Tbh I’m more concerned about our fate than United’s. But with four teams below us hopefully they continue to struggle. Nothing against them btw. Just looking at our own problems.

Even though United is in 15th place, you'll notice I said four teams worse than them. I'm not counting West Ham as one of them, which goes to show how dire things are at Old Trafford right now.
