Given that the World Cup has now (eventually, finally) drawn to a close (after what has seemed lat times to resemble an eternal and endless competition not to mention those dreadful ideas floating around to increase the size of the competition still further), and that activity in the transfer window seems to be gathering pace - I would imagine that clubs were keeping a close and beady eye on the performances of many of the participants in the World Cup, - I wonder what the thoughts of those of us who frequent this thread are concerning starting a thread for the coming season.
Normally, if I am the thread starter, I tend to take the view that the proper time to start a fresh thread is around a week or so before the Charity Shield, which is the curtain-raiser to when a new season actually formally starts, which would mean starting a new thread in early August.
However, should some wish for a new thread to start a bit earlier than that, I would be happy to do so, (while stressing that I am not the owner of any such thread).
