The 5s is definitely holding its own

A lot of people are on the S cycle and don't upgrade every year, the 4s to iPhone 5 was not very special imo but the new iPhone is a nice change with the big screen and new options coming with apps and ios8 that's why the 5s seems to be losing the love lol
You can put iOS8 on the 5S. You still only have the bigger screen and some unevolved e-payment feature.
How do you figure it has a better pip? Looks the same to me and I would argue that the 5s looks better than the 6 does.

You can also bet that it will take a good 12 months for all apps to take advantage of the bigger screen. It's only the biggie apps that update quickly, I still had some apps which wouldn't fit the i5 screen over a year later....
I have a few apps like stratus that never updated to the 4' screen, lazy devs lol
Hopefully they adjust faster with the new iPhone, the worst was with the retina display !
In my opinion the gold on the iPhone 5S looked nicer than the gold on the iPhone 6. I was all set to get the gold one this time around but it didn't look nice enough for me to pull the trigger. Looked too gaudy I feel.

I ordered a iPhone 6 64GB, it is a better phone than the 5S, processor, screen quality, camera, new build, new tech and so on and the 5S does seem 'dated' compared to that, but I do agree, the 5S is still a great phone and can certainly, at this time, hold it's own.

Im not sure you are bearing bad news. It would be bad if people paid $800 for an upgrade that wasnt better than their previous phone.
Heck the 4s is still a good phone
I can see some people sticking with the 5S . People have three choices when it comes to size, the 5s and the new 6 and 6 plus.
