i actually think the mini is ideal for reading books / playing games because of the comfort of holding an ipad mini in landscape mode. the ipad air is great for reading websites and productivity especially since keyboard peripherals made for the ipad air are actually great.

to each their own, i think there might be even an use case for both. oh if only app developers jump on the icloud sync train

Received mine today! wow! love it! downside: going from mini to full-size needs some getting used too just due to using the mini for a year. same thing happened when i went full to mini last year. you forget how much screen you were missing

I'm jealous of Mini users simply because I think reading books or using Kindle would be a little more enjoyable. But that's a compromise I'm willing to make for the ton of benefits I get to use the Air instead of the mini. Love the Air, and it's impossible for me to put it down.

Kindle Fire Ad: Lighter than Air?

May be Apple should have in the ads for the iPad Air

IPod Air: Hotter than Fire!

;)

Considering I already the 1st gen Mini with cellular AND it being almost impossible not to notice the difference with color hue while watching videos side by side. My choice right now is the Air. It is lighter and thinner than ever and my eyes will thank me for not going small again.

The air is far and away the best tablet made thus far. If you love that but want something a little smaller, or if your a girl then there is the retina mini.

Most definitely the best iPad yet. They took everything great about the iPad mini and fused it with the full 9.7" screen.

Screen size is probably a lot to do with it. The air has a decent sized screen for web browsing, playing games etc where as I find the minis display way too small for certain things. If you are a commuter then the mini is ideal but as for a stay at home ipad noway for me personally. Each to there own though

I have the iPad Air LTE version and frequently use it during transit and I found it to be light enough and due to the big enough screen size I can hold it further away from my eyes.

The air and the retina mini are both amazing devices. The only problem is deciding which one it keep. I'm actually getting closer to keeping both than making a decision. I don't see what would need to be upgraded for at least the next 2 years. The resolution doesn't need to be bumped because the ppi increase on the retina mini doesn't seem to make a difference. I also don't see it getting lighter or slimmer anytime soon. The colors on the air are amazing but I don't feel the retina mini is lacking unless I hold them side by side. My retina mini has some slight yellowing at the bottom of the screen so if I keep the mini I will have to mess with that while the air screen seems to be perfect. I still can't decide.

Well the rumor mill is pointing to a higher quality screen with the 6. Obviously just speculation at this point but will be interesting to see what comes up next.

My experience is that the Air is the epitome of buttaface. Amazing body...

Going from iPad 2 to 3 to mini to air I'd say the air is the perfect tablet. I'm sure the rmini is awesome fir those that like the portability. But the air is so much smaller and lighter than the 3. Haven't opened the MacBook Air since I got it.

the new mabook pro 13 and air 13 are so light that i couldn't find where i wouldn't want to use a macbook pro instead of an iPad. the MacBooks also last 10 hours now so why cripple yourself . i think the retina mini is going to be the best selling device in the category because its where ibooks shine. reading on the iPad air at night burned my eye balls out lol, multi tasking was a pain and the awkward portrait mode made me put the iPad close to my face anyway so why not have a retina mini and enjoy less weight with same specs and $100 less ....

Honestly, maybe its just because I have owned or do own both but the iPad 2 and Air are the top two offerings in the lineup. The 2 was the lightest and a true workhorse. The Air is very "next gen" feeling. So glad I went from the 2 to the Air and skipped the 3 & 4. Nothing wrong with them but it seems waiting a few generations of products is the right way to do the Apple thing.

I wish I did that. I only skipped the 4.
