Well I was wrong about Panesar.

It looks like it's all over for England and Australia will manage a feat that no team (England or Australia) has been able to do for 18 years. Regaining the Ashes.

Sorry? The Poms regained the Ashes last year. If they didn't regain the Ashes then why are we playing to win them back?

So far it's looking like a good match but we'll have to bat for the next day and a half to try and really put it out of the Poms' reach.

Bugger. I had it right the first time then I had a brain spasm and edited in "England" but although I removed it, you had already posted the incorrect version.

Hopefully Australia will declare with a wicket to spare in order to deny England the comfort of having bowled Australia out twice in a match.

Australia should be able to easily total an unreachable 450 by stumps tomorrow.

THREE-NIL!!!

Well, that little hiccup is over. Nice to have the little urn back with our name on it after England held it for the shortest period in history - a mere 15 months.

It's very apparent that:

- England did not play to win a game, they played to not lose but they didn't chase a win at any time.
- Without Vaughn at the helm England appear leaderless and without direction.
- The lack of Jones and Trescothick hurt, as did not picking Panesar in the first two tests.
- The Aussies played out if their skin to win these first three tests.
- Shane Warne and Mike Hussey are gods amongst mere mortal cricketers, Ricky Ponting is in the best form of his life, Michael Clarke has settled into his role and should fill it well for the next ten years, Stuart Clark is a real asset to the team, Gilchrist still has "it" after smashing the second fastest century in test history.

Bring on Boxing Day when 95,000 Victorians will greet the Aussies for the Fourth Test and then 2nd January for the fifth and final test, where I'll be sitting in the blazing sun for all of day two hoping to see the Aussies make the Poms pay for not playing to win by whitewashing the series 5-0.

Hooray!!

Well what a horror show. A thoroughly deserved series victory by Australia though I'm sure they would've preferred England to at least have made some effort to defend the urn.

The averages make hilarious (and throughly depressing if your English) reading. It really does seem like only a third of our players turned up.

Some of my friends are off to Straya for the Sydney test. They'll see it confirmed 5-0 there I'm sure.

Another thing, have any of you Aussies got/heard Boned! yet? Wondering if it's worth the extreme import prices in the UK!

I feel sorry for England supporters whose cricket team like their football team just seem to take the p155 out of their long suffering traveling fans by not doing the hard work and hoping it will all fall into place.

While traveling around South India in 1997 in the most obscure villages I would inevitably be asked "coming from?" when I answered "Australia" I was always answered with "Shane Warne, Shane Warne".

All this earlier ticket frenzy was a tempest in a thimble in the end. I managed to sell my hard queued for crap obstructed messenger stand tickets months ago for a ridiculous price, and yesterday I was able to easily buy a couple of silver tickets to Sydney day 3 at almost face value! So I'll be looking forward to Warnie and McGrath's last hurrahs. Let's hope it's a spectacular finish to two glittering careers.
