Let me see, how can I say this without being crude. I used your pics.

was that with the edu discount?
You bet. We have a quirky group of people in the field of meteorology. We also have Christmas lights, a Camel neon sign, and cardboard cutouts of Paris Hilton, the Three Stooges, and the Scream .... along with numerous other drinking paraphernalia. What's better, is that it is completely acceptable and encouraged. I love academia.![]()
Strange that Apple offers $100 video cards in $9,000 workstations.![]()
Can you tell us how much you spent? You can tell us... we won't make fun of you.
It's hard to tell how much it is spend. It makes me feel uncomfortable economically but at the same time it makes me feel comfortable technologically. So I'm happy and sad at the same time.
I think you only have two options with two 24" screens. Straddle your Mac Pro under your desk or have it on top of your desk with a screen either side. These 24" screens really were designed for laptops first and foremost.
$9000 is really not all that bad. I spent significantly more than that with my last order to Apple. If you are using your machine to make money then it is justifiable imo.
That of course would depend on what you're getting for your $9k and how much difference there is in price for what you got between Apple and other companies.
Currently Apple is overcharging for their 2009 Mac Pro models by about 25%. That's a little too high IMO. Their display cards as you may already know are 2 and 3 times over the going rate. That's a bit pathetic IMO.
