Okay my question to anyone who is reading this > What unfilmed comic adaptation would be your dream movie
Mine: 2000AD's Slaine.

Difficult. From those I've collected probably The Savage Dragon. That would be good.

But I've to admit that plot comes second for me in comics - drawings beat everything. So anything that could capture Jae Lee's style would be an instant win. His Namor run would be awesome. Or the 4 (?) issues mini series Spidey/Iron Fist cross over from the 90s. Actually, since I started to pull the rebooted new run, I wouldn't mind an Iron Fist movie at all.

----------

Of course Hardy has to play the Savage Dragon. :D

Daredevil was pretty lousy too on the Marvel side of life would love to see that character get a Batman -> Dark Knight style reboot.

Daredevil was one of my favorite characters. To say the movie was lousy is an understatement, unfortunately. I was even willing to give Aflack the benefit of the doubt, but the movie hurt.

Wow, you read Jae Lee's Namor? (I enjoy Namor.)

Right on.

Hardy has the body for Savage Dragon (what little I've read.)

I am more open minded about films featuring comic adaptations I do not know, rather than comics themselves. Marvel are on my ignore list for killing Wolverine, making Moon Knight an official Batman clone (detective bs) and sending Bucky into space (because everyone has to be cosmic now.)

Who is Bucky?

Yep, Namor. But the 90s one, think he worked on Namor more recently again (?, see below), have to track them down. Every now and then I'm checking for some nice splash pages by him for purchase. I was a real young one when reading him, he always stood out with his elegant dark n raw style - met him briefly in a comic shop where he did autographs. I was prolly 12yo back then and even got interviewed when standing in the waiting line - red headed and merely muttering because I got that excited. Never go aired tho! lol :D

Namor movie should be dark and brooding, completely underwater in the deep sea. Beautiful coloration and
little to no music. Maybe some Mozart and eventually some Minimal Wave or minimal techno if you ask me. :D

Btw. did you have a look at the contemporary Iron Fist series? Started some month ago. Never really read / knew about him but kinda like it. Different than the rest of Mrvel (darker tone - do like the art style, except for those annoying photoshop effects. Argh!).

Hm, alright scratch everything I just wrote (well, to an extent) but I'd love to see a proper The Maxx adaption. Not sure how that could be done without CGI overkill though.

Since you don't know who Bucky is I won't spoil it, as you have not seen the second Captain America movie.

Yeah, Jae's art is terrific. He actually worked on a Namor solo series before his style became as refined as what you posted (I think you might be mentioning that above.) That is cool you met Jae. :)

Iron Fist not really a fan (same for Kaare Andrews artwork), but I am glad he has his own comic and that you are enjoying it.

You could have more than one unfilmed comic adaptation. Savage Dragon and the Maxx.

I meant his first run. The pic I posted was from the later one. The one from the early 90s was the series I grew up with and while I generally was a little kiddo and all over the mainstream Mark Bagley's Amazing Spider Man or anything Jim Lee touched, Jae was incredible powerful and badass - more than anybody else I've seen. Glad I discovered him. :)

That's the one I'm referring to:

I sit in that group that liked both Watchmen and Sin City. I'll just throw out here an oldie that some wont remember as it was before their time -

Fritz the Cat.

By today's standards, it certainly wasn't politically correct at any level.

Not sure if you know this, topic got mixed up a bit lately, but there is a Fritz The Cat movie. I was too young back then to watch it though.

I did make reference to the Fritz the Cat comic as it was also adapted into a movie. I too was very young when it came out but managed to watch it a few years later. Again, while not politically correct, it does capture a certain era of stereotypes and humour.

FYI - Ralph Bakshi did the film and several other animated movies along with some TV series stuff. His animated movies were always a bit 'different.'

Bakshi's stuff sure was different. I was talking about the movie too.

He does have a very unique style to his work. It is hit or miss for me.

Wizards
Lord of the Rings
Cool World

The Lord of the Rings movie I actually really liked and I am sad that they never made part two.

Wizards was my favorite of his films; partly due to the fact I was a huge fan of British Fantasy Artist Ian Miller who did a lot of the intricate, etching-like backgrounds for it. Although the Nazgul in the LoTR were fantastic. I still really like the rotoscope effect Bakshi used for them.

Another obscure title I'd like to see adapted (and eventually released in English), Kurt Busiek's Red Hand.

One more obscure one for my list, Blueberry. Loosely based on a French western comic.

Was finally able to catch Captain America 2. I liked it a lot, but I still give the edge to GOTG. However I will say, there was one scene in CA, that chocked me up. The scene were he is visiting his love in the hospital. That to me, was probably one of the most gut wrenching scenes Marvel has ever put out. That scene and the rocket raccoon scene and "We are Groot" really hit there marks.

Re: Cap 2. I understand why it was done (leaving his old life behind) and the pace of the film picks up dramatically after that moment, but it does not feel authentic to me. So I always skip that moment...but I mush up during other parts. :D
