My best Mac is the iMac G4 20". It has the best design apple has ever made. I've been very happy since the day I bought. Now, I installed Leopard and still runs great.

12" Powerbook G4. The latest Apple laptop that combines great portability with a matte screen. :(

Definitely my new UMBP. It works great, no flaws whatsoever. Bought it 3 days ago hope it stays this way:D. Previously i had the whitebook with which i was also very satisfied(was my first Mac though).

i can't imagine having a better Mac than i do right now. my MacBook is GREAT.

however, i'm sure technology will evolve and yes... i do know that i have the 'bottom of the line' model.

oh well - not everyone can have the 17" unibody flagship! :)

Powerbook G3 PISMO! What a a mac: beautiful design, ergonomic, expandable, fantastic battery life with two batteries, all the ports anybody could ever want, easily accessible repairs through the keyboard and.....lasts forever! It's on its ninth year and still works like champ with no issues except a dead battery, talk about good investment. Amazing laptop.

Yes, PDE. I think we were lucky to have the privilege to use Pismo and OS9, especially, with Mac population explosion these days. After I used that Pismo, the only think I felt regret was why didn't I used Mac earlier!

Have to be my 1st Mac. My unibody MBP. :D

Hope the experience keeps getting better.

Reading everyones response makes me miss my first Mac (which my girl friend now has), 1.33 GHZ PPC 12" iBook. I dropped that thing on the floor (with a thin case around it) and it affected it none! I was really surprised at its durability. Oddly enough, it runs Leopard faster than Tiger.

My favorite was no doubt my old 14" iBook G4. Perfect size and form factor for my lap, solid and reliable. A great tool it was.

Unlike my 15" MacBook Pro, which has been horribly unreliable over the last nearly three years. It recently went into the repair depot for the 13th time. Apple have finally offered to replace it with a new unibody. Here's hoping the new machine, which should arrive this week, will become my new favorite.

So far the only one I have ever owned. (listed below)

Hopefully one day I will be able to get a 17 inch MBP Unibody.

Probably my first MacBook Pro. It was one of the earlier ones (2.0ghz CoreDuo). The thing went everywhere with me, took a beating, and still kept on going..

i loved my iBook G4. it broke recently and i tore it apart hahaha. i felt bad when it was laying in 15 pieces on my floor, but all is well, i put it back together. still kinda works haha. i replaced it with the 2.66 MBP i love it so far but it is still TBD.

My favorite all-time Mac has to be my first - a Mac Plus with 1meg memory, System 6 and a 30meg SCSI external HD. I still have it, along with an SE, and an SE30 - all working. That computer was easily the most influencial machine I've ever owned. It had a personality that wouldn't quit, and I loved all the little init programs and third-party utilities that were written for it. In those days, Microsoft was actually a good supplier of software for Mac, with Word 4.0 and 5.0, Excel 2.0 and MS Works. This was before the days of Windows. Compared to running 16 color, character-based DOS machines, this b/w WYSIWYG system with its bit-mapped screen was radical, and clearly opened the door to the future. The Imagewriter dot-matrix printer was a beast, but worked well with it. And it was fun as hell to use. I loved it.

Three others deserve mention. My workhorse Powermac 8500, my G3 B/W tower w/ 17" Apple (Sony) display, and the one I'm on now, my MBP Classic.

Of course, today if I had to pick one - no contest. MBP!

Predictably, my current one, a 15'' UMBP. It's only my second Mac, the previous being a 2 y/o white MB.

I bought the LED ACD to accompany it and can honestly say the combination of portability/power and the beautiful relationship it has with the ACD beats all previous experiences I've had with computers over the last 25 years.

My favourite non-Mac would be my old Commodore Amiga 1000 (with 2mb RAM w00t!), amazing computer at the time.

My favorite was my first: 15" PowerBook 1.67 Ghz, second to last revision of the PowerBooks. Man, I loved that thing.

My best was my work computer - 8-core 3 GHz Intel Zeon with a Quadro FX 4500.

My two best machines were the 1.67 17"powerbook. I loved that machine, it was perfect. Then my little road warrior 12"powerbook. Nostalgia, love it.

It would have to be my Penryn MBP that my mom now has.

This Unibody MBP has had nothing but problems for the past month or two. The logic board failed and was sent out for repair. Now the fans rev up/down, battery cover is loose, and the screen snaps when I open and close it sometimes. $2,756.31 is the only motivation I have to be angry.

The swiss army knife of computing! Every time i turn it on I get that warm fuzzy feeling that even my MBP cannot match.

I know exactly what you mean man. I mean you just look at the power button and you know that the second you press it something magical is going to happen.

I always thought that the 14" form factor was to bulky to carry around, but perfect size for a lap. The 12" is perfect to carry and move, but is rather small on the lap. I love my 12"-er for classes though. Its amazing...everything about it.

The first grey powerbook. I loved that thing. It was a small tank, great keyboard, I even liked the monochrome screen. And those little legs that popped up in the back.

My current one, which is in my signature, but I'll post it here too.

It's a MacBook which I bought about 2 years or so ago (don't really remember). got it with 80 GB HD and I upgraded it to 320 GB HD. Love the thing and it works great!
