Why anyone who wants a non-glossy screen would go for a glossy one just because of the bezel colour is beyond me. Now I have a non-glossy screen, I couldn't go back.

The non-glossy weighs less too.

Are you sure it weighs less?. That piece of aluminum bezel glued around the screen should add a little weight not less. The glossy ones do't have that. What gives?.

The extra glass on the bezel would weigh more than aluminium.

I ordered mine with the glossy high-resolution display because I think it looks a lot, lot nicer. I can put up with the reflection because overall I prefer the deep blacks and crystal clarity that the glossy display offers.

The glass also strengthens the display a little and prevents it from bending more, so the glossy is a stronger display.

Could not agree more :)

I use my 15" hi-res, anti-glare MBP to get work done. It's a computer, not a piece of art. Yes it's a beautiful design, but more importantly it's the tool I use to make my living with. I'd never make something as silly as the color or style of the bezel a deal breaker. Sitting and staring at a computers bezel has no appeal to me.

I'm looking to purchase a Macbook Pro 15" for Christmas and the anti glare was pretty much my preferred display type due to my imperfect vision, but the silver bezel lacks the stylish premium look of the glossy version. It reminds me of my 2005 HP ze2115us laptop.

Guess I might have to with the glossy. No way am I going to spend so much on a laptop that gives me painful flashbacks of my hideous looking hp.

If you agree, then great. Rebuttals are also welcome. :)

So you are willing to risk more damage/discomfort to your eyes over the bezel? :roll eyes:

Maybe you need to rethink those priorities.

Personally I came to like the silver bezel around the anti-glare display. It sets it apart from all other MBP's.

My biggest problem with the silver bezel is it attract attention from other Apple users who want to see the " cool anti-glare display ". :D

Oh and my eyes are happier for it.

I agree 110%.

It is a computer and not a damned FASHION ACCESSORY!

At first I wasn't thrilled with the aluminum bezel, either, but that's mostly because I was used to the black one on my previous MBP. But the anti-glare was MUCH more important to me. I'm going to use this computer for 3-5 years. I've had it for a couple months now, and I don't even notice the color of the bezel anymore when I'm working. But I do notice less eye strain and not having to adjust the screen or move to different lighting because of glare.

So it really does depend on your priorities. Would you rather have what you consider to be a more attractive laptop that causes problems with your eyes, or one that you'll be able to use for several years without worrying about the eye problems? I'm willing to bet that after a little while you won't notice the color of the bezel...unless for some reason you just sit back and stare at your computer instead of actually using it.
