Wow man, now you're talking! My mouth is watering right now. Now that op has mentioned it, I'll probably have pizza with mushrooms for lunch tomorrow!

From a local pizza place :D.

----------

I don't think the OP is saying, "don't eat burgers/fries/pizza/whatever because it'll make you fat!" I think he is saying not to eat at the chains because the food they make there is lesser quality than what you would find at a local, independantly run restaurant making the same type of foods. Which I could understand and agree with. However, say what you will about it, I love me some Pizza Hut, Dominos, McDonald's, etc. And not only do I enjoy eating at these places, it's more affordable, faster, and often more accessible than locally owned/run places.

This thread is being taken for saying a point it's not. It's not against unhealthy food; I'm against fast food restaurants when you can get unhealthy food at tastier places with some nutrition! Support local businesses and stop eating chemicals.

Absolutely :) Never from Dominos or Pizza Hut only because their pizza sucks. BTW, I haven't seen a Pizza Hut around in a long time. Are they still in business?

Unfortunately haha! Not as popular as they once were though.

Rightfully so! BTW, I bought a frozen pizza from my local supermarket last week because it was cheap. YOU GET WHAT YOU PAY FOR!!! I ended up throwing it out. What a waste!! I'm not exaggerating when I say it tasted like cardboard! NEVER AGAIN!

French fries with steak? Comeon. Go whole hog and get a giant loaded baked potato, smothered in butter, sour cream, with huge lumps of cheddar melted in, and covered in bacon bits and chives.

It's healthier than french fries because it's a potato. And potatoes are vegetables.

Blah I like potatoes:mad:, especially marble potatoes. You shouldn't have to dress them up with large amounts of heavy dairy products. The flavor can come from the initial type choice.

I half agree with you here. Dominoes is bland at the best of times. But Pizza Hut? It might vary from location to location, but I've never had a bad pizza there. In fact, I'd say their thin crust chicken supreme is one of the best around.

And yup, they're very much still in business. They're EVERYWHERE down here.

If you're looking for a pizza turn-off experience, go to Papa John's and order a thin crust pizza. Then watch the guy/gal take the "cracker" [That's what they call a thin crust base.] out of the drawer and proceed to make the pizza. Then, if you have the presence of mind, cancel the order.

Just awful!!

Fast Food chains are all poison. But some of it is damn tasty. It's hard to say no to Taco Bell or a BK Whopper.

Oh God...it's like when my vegan Facebook friend gets going.

I, for one, love to have some fast food as a choice sometimes. Not all the time, but it really hits the spot sometimes.

I think the bottom line - moderation. I see no problems in treating my kids to McDonalds once in a while, or getting pizza, whether its from a local shop or a chain.

I love Papa Ginos, and Pizzeria Regina, both are chains and both produce good pizza.

For the OP, as I mentioned, if you don't eat there, then don't. Different strokes for different folks.

Definition of McDonald's, Burger King, Taco Bell, Wendy's, etc.: ****** food filled with **** chemicals made in ****** conditions by employees that don't give a **** about you. The last part happens to the best due to fast pace eventually. All this combines to make these places inedible; should be avoided!

From the September issue of Prevention (a Rodale publication), page 18, article titled Five Amazingly Healthy Fast Foods. One of the recommendations from Rodale's registered dietitian:

"McDonald's Premium Southwest Salad (without chicken)"

I normally brown bag my lunch but decided to try the salad. Was delicious. Fresh dark green lettuces with corn, black beans, and a bit of cheese, topped with tortilla strips. 290 calories.

Was it chemical free (meaning 100% organic)? Nope. But neither is the food offered at any of the "local businesses" in my area.
