hilarious plasma grenade kill (with an assist going to the airlift)
1. I open the tray of my newly repaired Xbox 360
2. Insert Halo 3
3. See load screen, then hear that familiar sound......
4. Press Start Solo Match
5. Frozen Screen, RLOD
6. Neighbors hear me scream and call 911....
Why, Microsoft..., why?!?!
Maybe they should stick to software...
Is anyone waiting for the xbox arcade to come out Click here if you don't know what that is
before buying halo3?
I just can't make my self buy the $ 349 360 system just for halo3.
As someone who owns a 360 and H3 I don't think any single game is worth the purchase of any console.
Per the Arcade 360: 256MB memory card. Yuck. No thanks. That should hold about 4 or 5 XBLA games. Why won't MS just bite the bullet and include the HD which probably costs them under $10 to produce. This is absurd.
Two things
-I agree, I don't think Halo 3 is worth the purchase of a 360. In fact other than the first two days after I bought it, I haven't played Halo 3 since. It's not a bad game by any means but I just haven't been in a "finish the fight" mood lately.Gears on the other hand...Gears was a must-own for me and the price of the 360 was cheaper than the price [will be] of upgrading a 3 year old computer to run the Windows version of Gears. Bioshock...meh...I like the game, I wouldn't say it's worth the price of admission but to each his own. I've finished Gears on every difficulty by myself and I guarantee I will play through it at least one more time on Insane.
-Re: "arcade" 360 - I think they should (ideally) put the 20gig HD in the "arcade" one and beef up the HD in the Premium but they won't. The arcade one is for cheapskate gamers...after using a Premium and seeing how nice everything is, I'd rather pay the extra $70 for the wireless controller, hard drive, headset + component cables because buying those separately is waaaaaaay over the $70 higher price.
Sucks, eh?
My 360 RLOD's first back in August. Got it repaired by a 3rd party because they'd do it in 5 working days compared to a month from MS. Beginning of Sept., it died again. Sent back to the repair company for free repair under their warranty.
Got Halo 3 the weekend after launch. 90mins of play and it died again. I could've cried!
I thought I had nothing really left to lose, so I bought the 'x-clamp fix' from www.x-clamp-fix.com. Disassembled my 360 completely, took the standard clamp off the underside of the motherboard and bolted the heatsink down firmly.
It's been running fine since! *crosses fingers*
