Yes, absolutely a blanket block, provided the call went to voicemail. The number of "unknown" calls that are important versus robocall or such thing is for most of us probably like 1 in a 100. And of course, you should be be able to turn the feature on and off -- though admittedly being able to turn off features you don't want is not a strong suit of the iphone.

Ideally, you control the settings. Want all unknown calls to go to voicemail? Click YES. Want to turn that off if you have reason to believe Dr. Smith will be calling with your MRI tests from an unknown phone, or just because you want any of your doctors to call you at any time from unkown phones? click NO block, and leave it off forever if you like.

I'm not an engineer, but it seems like it should be doable to me.

Sure, I'm down for that. Again though, that's different than what I was originally saying. I understand now where you're coming from.

That's why I bought a Galaxy s4 last last summer. But if iOS 8 brings all of those things I will back for the ip6.

my iOS 8 Wishlist.

1) The ability to search a specific iMessage thread for Links and Media. I often send links to my friends and pictures that I often need to go back to and Im scrolling up forever trying to find it, if there was a button, for example: view all links or view all media, that would be great.

2) The ability to send more than one image at a time in iMessage and email, similar to the way Whatsapp does it, you select 1 photo then there is a + symbol to add an additional 8 pictures at one time.

3) Group Facetime, up to 4 people, especially now since the phone will be bigger.

4) Choose which setting buttons are in Control Center. For example I have location switch in my CC because of a jailbreak. I use it ALL the time.

5) The ability to drag more than one app at a time into a Folder. Hold down on the apps until they shake, then select as many as you want either to drag into a folder or delete all at once.

6) Fingerprint unlock opened up to sign into apps, would be awesome.

7) Be able to turn off the flashlight by pushing the volume on, once its on i find it dumb to go back into the software, swipe up and hit a button, its more intuitive if i can just hit either one of the volume buttons to turn it off.

I'm new to iphone (using my kids old iphone 4), and it's a wonderful phone in many ways. But also so incredibly backwards and rudimentary, that I may go back to Android when my contract's up in a few months. If they only copied a few key features from Android, they could dominate the market totallly. I really don't understand why they have not.

Really? You're not happy that they decided that one of the most important functions to provide in this vital area is a link to the timer, a function most of use, oh, about 3 times a yea or so.... Who needs to change anything when the fine minds at Apple have already made brilliant decisions like this for us?
