We got 10-12 inches so far.. just went out to shovel around the doors and stuff. Already an inch or two in the area that I just shoveled in only 20 minutes or so.

No. It's been a pretty cold winter this year. We actually had water freeze on the road a couple times.

It's been hellish. I had to invest in a pair of mittens and everything.

We here in New England feel your pain.

It's that mitten expense...a real budget buster!

:D

Yup.. everyone made the run on the bread, eggs, and milk the past 2 days here.

Guess they plan on riding out this storm by making a **** ton of french toast.

I love the people who stock up on perishable items and the complain when they have to throw it all out after they lose power for an extended period.

Also, all the folks in the supermarket where I shop buying cases and cases of water. I have lived here for over 30 years, been through dozens of power outages...and never lost the water.

I know some extremely small number of folks with wells employing electric pumps, but in my town, and the surrounding towns, it's town water...and that has never crapped out!

I just don't get it!

Some pics please.

This is the best I can get. Cleared about a foot off the driveway with the snowblower, Hour later looks like I did nothing.

power is out for at least 200,000 customers in MA and RI, including me. all the windows are covered with snow I can't even see outside.

Pics will have to wait until tomorrow

Well, they have been naming winter storms all year long now just like hurricanes. Nemo's the 14th storm I guess.

The name actually comes from the Jules Verne novel 20,000 Leagues Under the Sea, not the disney movie. :p;)

"They" is the loony, sometimes hysterical, Weather Channel. The National Weather Service wants no part of such nonsense. http://gizmodo.com/5958466/the-nati...efuses-to-acknowledge-dumb-winter-storm-names

Quoting from a comment on Sailing Anarchy: "In 2013, calling a storm "Nemo" and telling everyone it's not named after the clownfish who lost himself and found our love is like naming your son "Martin Luther King," and telling everyone he's named after Martin Luther King, Sr."

WBZ in Boston just tweeted they are gonna start calling it Blizzicane 2013. We had 76 mph winds just recorded at Logan in Boston and 90mph gusts on the bridge in Newport RI. We are having snow lightning too, which is CRAZY.

350000+ customers without power and its still getting worse.

Gonna go out and measure the snow and shovel the walkway soon.

edit-
14-15 inches now as of midnight and it is supposed to snow for 10-12 more hours

Happily, my power is still on. About 650,000 are out in New England, about 450,000 out in Mass.

It's supposed to be in the teens tonight...very nasty for those poor souls without power.

To my New England neighbors...stay in, stay warm, stay safe!!!:D

Central CT. Here's the best I could take this morning without going outside.

Oh, and still have power!

Many of my neighbors near the beach lost power but thankfully we did not. They flickered a bit last night but they stayed on.

I'm seeing drifts 3 to 4 high.

Good to see you're OK, mate!:D

Drifts are apparently 6-7 feet in places.

Flickering lights make my heart rate spike up...but so far, so good!
