I'm in St. John's, NL, and just got an update saying it will be here by tomorrow at 12.

From Apple, unlocked. If I can get it by then, I'm sure nobody else will have any issues :)

The bigger issue for me is... now that I've gotten out of my Rogers contract, should I just return the unlocked phone and sign on with Bell to save myself $600? Hmm.

I'm with Fido and I'm not on a contract and just go an unlocked iPhone. I talked to retention and they gave me something decent (55$ + taxes for everything and 6GB - except no long distance) and they confirmed I can get that deal with a 3 year contract with the iPhone. I have 120$ Fido dollars and I can return a crappy phone to receive an additional credit. I'll take the contract for 3 years and sell the Fido iPhone for 600$ (I want an unlocked just in case for traveling or for another sim card). I'll just throw that 600$ on my Fido balance and get 1 year of free phone.

What time do deliveries start? I am going to do homework in my condo lobby. The doorman is bad at staying at his post!!

Just got a nano sim from Telus after being told that they can't sell them until tomorrow; this was at a telus store. I later stopped at a telus kiosk, and they told me I could have one, lol. Cost me 10 bucks.

Spoke with the Apple Store, apparently they will only be giving SIM cards with activations. No sims for unlocked phones bought online!!

lol Clint it is a pleasure getting your posts and tweets... I myself am just enjoying the thread, eagerly awaiting my own shipment which I have no details on!

Gotta love Telus!;)

Well, it will either show up here tomorrow or it won't... Not much we do now will make a difference. And I DO feel sorry for the Telus front line staff... This week probably sucked royally for them!

Clint

Umm...that's different. Spoke with 3 different Apple Stores in the GTA and all said I can walk in and get the nano-sim tomorrow. Just have to fight the crowd that's all.

Which Apple Store did you go to?

Same here, talked to Apple store no problem just show your invoice from Apple .ca:)

My status updated. Delivery by 12pm tomorrow. There will be a window from 8.25am-9am where nobody will be home. I am really hoping it doesn't attempt delivery during that time period.

I wasn't planning on chasing up a nano-sim, but after reading this thread I thought I would give it a shot on my way home from work... I stopped at the Wireless Wave and asked the guy if he has nano-sims. He said yeah, but why do I want it if I have no phone. So I told him I ordered and will be coming tomorrow. He said he couldn't sell until tomorrow. I was looking at some iPhone 5 cases in his store, and thought I would just come back on my way home again, but asked him if it would be busy tomorrow. And I don't know if me being a girl helped, I was sorta like mehhh... and he is like Ok, I will sell to you today. He asked me if I wanted a case, I said do I have to get one (thought he was only going to sell me the nano-sim today if I was buying a case too), but he said no. He did sell me a screen protector and told me he will apply it for me tomorrow, but I think I might just return it. And when I went to pay by debit, he was like "so you really did get your phone tomorrow?" I am like yeah, why would I buy a nano-sim for fun?
/end story.

How realistic do you guys think the 12:00 delivery time is? I have class at 3:30pm.

I'm in Edmonton if that helps. I remember getting my iPad at 7:00-8:00 pm on release day, but I don't remember that one having a 12:00 claimed delivery time.

I think by 12pm on any given regular deliver day. But on a day where the UPS guy has tons of iphones to delivery, he probably will run a little late.

Unless, like last year (according to hearsay), UPS specifically assigned UPS trucks that ONLY carried iphones and would make iphone deliveries only all day.

UPDATED :)

How do i pick this up at the UPS store instead of delivery??

As i posted a bit earlier, you are SOL. They have to make a first delivery attempt before you can change the address.

As per the UPS website under Change Delivery when you track - "Note: Prior to the first delivery attempt, contact the sender to request a change in delivery instructions or to correct your delivery address."

I know... I tried. I'd rather do it myself then leave it in the complete confidence of UPS :(

As I was doing that, WOOHOO! It's leaving Concord!

Concord, ON, Canada 09/20/2012 20:08 Departure Scan

Hmm, reading conflicting stories on whether Apple stores will give someone with an unlocked iPhone a nano sim on friday. Not just here, but on other forums too. I guess I'll just head down to the Apple store tomorrow and find out.

Mine is in transit from Concord currently in Mississauga
Even closer to where I live. Hopefully this means I can get it first thing in the morning.
