The unlocked is only available online, and not in store from the 20th.. The only thing I can't figure out is what model it's going to be.. Can somone in canada call apple and ask what model will be for sale online??

It's either going to be the A1533, A1457 or A1530..

Kind of disappointing to see the price go up again. Weird that it shows the 5C can be preordered this friday but the 5S not until the 20th.

source? I did a quick search on Apple's site and don't see this mentioned.

He might be basing it off last year with the iPhone 5.

Did anyone have any luck getting an iPhone on launch day without the lines?

I don't see anything about unlocked not being available in store though...

Masonville Apple Store, London, ON

Just called the Masonville Apple Store. The guy had no idea about whether or not there would be factory unlocked phones available at the store for purchase on the 20th.

I phoned two locations—the Waterloo Apple Store in Conestoga Mall and the one in Square One.

The former informed me that yes, they will be selling the iPhone 5s unlocked on the 20th. The guy said that last year they didn't sell the 5 unlocked initially because of resellers buying them out or something like that. (Why this year is different, I'm not sure). The Square One guy said they're not sure. So I'm guessing that they will be in stores unlocked.

The 64 GB unlocked won't sell out by midday, right?

i think to reserve a 5S you need your iTunes account ,this way people dont buy 20 units to resell or send overseas.

You can reserve one? So there'd be no point in lining up, right? You could just pick it up any time of the day? And do you need credit card info to reserve?

Hoping to walk into Upper Canada Mall in Newmarket 20th morning and picking up a 64GB 5S.

I'm planning on heading to the Upper Canada Mall in Newmarket on the 20th for the 5S. Anybody ever go there on launch day? Should I expect massive lines? If I show up by 9am after the initial craziness, would that be better?

Never been the an Apple store on launch day, I pre-ordered last year.

I was there for the iPhone 5 on launch day and the lines were massive. I'd get there early if I were you. I also plan on lining up there so hoping for the best. As for 9am, you may or may not get a phone let alone specific model you want. I'd get there around 6 if you can.

What time were you there last year? I read an article from Global News that said Newmarket had just under 100 people in line when the doors opened for the iPhone 5.

I have to work until midnight the night before and then I work at 4pm on Friday and I live an hour and a half from Newmarket. If worse comes to worse I'll have to order online and wait a few days.

Was planning to line up at Yorkdale. This will be my first time lining up on launch day too.

What does this exactly mean? Is this the color variations or something?

I plan on ordering online..

There are 3 different actual model numbers that determines the wireless support each phone has. You can learn more at this link (and scrolling to wireless)

I would assume it will be the A1533.

I've always lined up for each phone (since the 3G). This year I will order online. Since we don't have preorder... I assume the delivery will occur on Monday the 23rd?

Okay.. but the A1533 has the CDMA and GSM variant. How does Apple know which one to send you?

Pretty sure all Canadian Carriers will work on the A1533 GSM. I think the CDMA A1533 is just for Verizon?

Edit: Here is the link I was originally searching for:
http://www.apple.com/iphone/LTE/ ... Correct me if I'm wrong, but won't this device have both GSM and CDMA?

I'm going to be buying a iPhone 5S 32GB, Gold, Unlocked. My question is that will it be available from Apple Premium Resellers like Jump+? I'll give em' a call and see what they say.
