The CANADIAN iPhone 5S Thread!

They had everything, I grabbed a 64 white, couldn't decide between white or gold (giving black 5 to wife didn't want phones to be too similar)

I just left they still had 1
 
Woke up at 3am, ordered a 5S 16GB white/gray upgrade though Telus online keeping my existing plan.

There was no ETA listed that I remember but I see this morning for new orders it says ships between Oct 4-9.

Hopefully they had some stock and it isn't a 2+ week wait.

Edit: Got a reply from Telus Support on Twitter.
Gold = 6-8 weeks. Gray will ship between Oct4-Oct9 and takes 1-3 business days for delivery

So no stock for launch

Went to Carrefour Laval at 9:30 am and there was only 10 people in line..walked out with an unlocked silver 5s 16GB
 
Woke up at 12:23AM PDT and ordered a 32gb grey 5s. Went back to bed. Checked my order this AM and shipping estimate is 7-10 business days as it told me last night. Estimated delivery was Oct 8-11.

Now, I checked again and shipping estimate is still the same 7-10 days but now delivery has slipped to Oct 16-21:mad:

What gives Apple? Did anyone else see their delivery estimate change in the past 2 hours?

Mine was Oct 7-10 and now it's 10-16. I wonder if our shipping dates are now closer to the 10 day mark and that's why our delivery estimates have changed?

I think, and this is just speculation, that the initial estimates assumed that we were all in major metro areas (GTA, Vancouver, Montreal, etc.) but now the estimates are being revised based on postal codes. For example, mine was Oct 4 - 9 and now it's 8 - 11. I live in Kingston and I've always gotten iPhones a day or so after the the GTA folk do. You live in the Yukon, according to your profile, so the slip in date reflects that now. Again, just speculating.
 
I was told that the gold color is exclusive to apple in the beginning then will trickle down to carriers - can anyone confirm?

Despite that I can still order the gold on my carriers website - just takes 6 - 8 weeks

You are probably right with that assumption. If Apple is using UPS for the iphone shipments then it goes by truck to Whitehorse so that is probably why mine slipped so much. If they use Fedex then it goes by Air and will be fast. I hope Apple is just being overly conservative and things start shipping and delivery faster than these estimates.

EDIT: Just checked again, now I'm back to the 8-11 estimate!! Weird, weird, weird...oh well when it gets here it gets here.

only one way to find out is checking the apple store each day... well, thats what I'm going be doing this week. Going tomorrow to my local apple store to check...2 week waiting is tough....my delivery estimate changed from oct-4- 9 to oct 8-11
 
Anyone try to get one through Telus or one of their corporate vendors and know anything about their supply or lack thereof?
 
Just ridiculous prices. No way I am going to buy a phone that expensive that will be outdated by the time they are stocked back.

Waiting for my iPhone 3GS battery.

I was told 2-3 weeks due to limited supply and high demand. I have to switch some things with my account tomorrow, and then I'm going to order a 5C from a corporate store. Sucks for the wait, but with month to month prices going up and getting the discount now (both this year's contracts and next year's contracts expiring in 2016) it makes sense to just buy on contract this year.

I see. I ordered a 5s through one of their corporate stores on Friday, but was given no indication of when to expect it. I figured it might be a few weeks, but I don't mind.
 
Stopped by the apple store around noon on friday around noon joined a not to long of a line 1.5 hours later I had my new 5S
Could not be happier with the phone and the wait time
 
I ordered the 64GB, space grey, unlocked iPhone 5s with a black leather case and dock at 12:01 AM PDT on the 20th. The case and dock have shipped, but the iPhone says processing. I should see it before the 16th of October. (I am quite excited as this is my first iPhone, I'm 17)

Mine changed to one day later, I ordered at 12:01 though.
 
I'd just like to say that at least Fido has "plenty" of stock left for Gold iPhones.

Earlier today I called Fido because my contract ended and I "threatened" to leave. The representative then proceeded to tell me that they have plenty of iPhone 5s stock and are going to send me a 64gb gold one to arrive in 5 to 7 business days.

Funny thing is, I called them on launch day and they told me it's pointless to call back because they won't have stock for a month or more, haha.
 
I ordered from telus on friday afternoon, shipping estimate says between oct 4 to 9, so hopefully will get it around 11 or 12 oct.
 
Apple Stores in Canada, or at least in Ottawa are being replenished. I picked up a 32GB Silver from Bayshore today around 10:30AM. They had 32GB Silver and 16/32/64 Space Grey. No gold, or if they did it sold within minutes. I called at 9:30 and they said they didn't have stock but I went there anyway expecting a shipment which they indeed received. Rumors that they can't sell what they receive same-day are clearly nonsense.

The Rideau Center also had 16GB Space Grey when I went there on my way back to get a 2m lightning cable. They also received a shipment late morning because they had nothing when they opened.

Apple treats online customers as second-rate. I placed my online order with the app before the website was even up...still 7-10 days for the 32GB silver.
 
Calgary Apple Store Update

I was at the Market Mall location yesterday and spoke to one of the employees. She stated that they get shipments every day but Sunday, no idea of exactly how many but she did confirm that they sold the last available one on Saturday at 5pm, long after the line dissipated.
