So I've been with Bell for almost 4 years now... and I've been without a contract for 2 years. I've got a plain old cell... but I want to get an iPhone 4. I shouldn't have a problem because I've never had an upgrade and if they want to keep me as a customer, they should be able to offer a decent plan.

I am wondering if I should call Bell today or if it would be better to wait until tomorrow. I'm asking because I don't have a smartphone at the moment and even though they could get me a plan today, the phones won't actually be available until tomorrow. So I'm not sure if it would be best to wait and do it all at the same time incase they sell out of phones before I get one.

Cool, i did this before. But im gonna try and aim for better, this will be the 3rd time im extending my contract and its actually extending it at the end of my contract not like 4-5months in.

do it, you have the power and you can move carriers , rogers HATES bell and that word im sure is blocked in the phone system so customer care reps only here a beep, they will do anything to keep you....anything.

ZOMG the Phones & devices page at telusmobility.com has updated it's iPhone section to show a picture of an iPhone 4! :/

Fair enough dude! Props. Very nice plan.

So when you call *611, you get into what account changes? And then explain to them youd like a better plan? Or just ask to be transferred over to retentions?

I did that with Fido. When they said Hello blah blah blah, I asked to be transferred to retentions. They then asked why and I said I wanted a better cheaper plan. I was currently paying $110/month for 2 or 3 months, but I was paying $92.83 /month before with my discounts.

When I activate my iPhone 4 I will be paying $72.80 total with taxes included.
200 minutes
1000 evening/weekend
Fido 2 Fido
2500 text messages
Call display
voice mail
6GB plan (had it in 2008)
unlimited incoming calls

I think that's all that I got. Not great but not bad... better then what I was paying before considering I only use about 30 minutes/month haaha.

I'm going to buy Skype and call with Skype with my number on Call display.

I am in a dillema!

To get the 6GB Data plan, i`d have to renegotiate my plan and extend my contract.

In terms of data, all I do on the phone is good amount of browsing and app use, 0 streaming whatsoever- both audio and video i completely avoid. I also don`t tether. and of course good amount of emails.

Currently I have a 1GB Data allowance.

My plan is 500 anytime, Unlimited Evening Weekend 5PM, Unlimited Network Calling, Unlimited Incoming, 1000 Canada Wide-LD, 1GB Data, Enhanced Voicemail, Caller ID+Name Display, and lastly unlimited SMS+MMS for 50.00+GRRF (3.01)

Worth trying to renegotiate and switch to a voice+data or will I not even need that extra data?

I never plan to stream on 3G FYI.

you have a nice plan there now, i would work the 6gb into that plan for 10$ more a month...they should do it no prob.

if you dont think you will need the 6gb dont bother, but with iphone 4 and tethering you may need it.
