I ventured out to the cheesemonger's today and purchased some cheese:

Hard cheeses included a goat's Gouda with truffle from the Netherlands, a cow's Gouda with cumin (from Ireland), and a small slice of classic aged (18 months) French Comte.

Taleggio (from Italy), Camembert Rustique (from Normandy) and Crémeaux de Bourgogne (from France) comprised the soft, or semi soft selection.

Two blues (Roquefort from France) and Birbablu (from Italy) completed my purchases.

A fresh baguette from either the French bakery, or an excellent artisan bakery will be purchased presently......as good cheese calls for, nay, demands, seriously good French (or other) bread.

Treated myself to cheese today:

Blues: Roquefort and Bleu d'Auvergne (both from France), and Birbablu (a washed rind cheese, washed by beer - from Italy).

Soft and semi-soft cheeses included: Taleggio (Italy), Camembert Rustique (from Normandy, in France), Crémeaux de Bourgogne (also from Burgundy, in France), and an oozing goat's cheese (yes, also from France).

As I have Comte, I went elsewhere for hard cheeses; they took the form of sheep's Gouda (from the Netherlands), and a Spanish sheep's cheese with Rosemary.

I'm currently trying a BellaVitano cheese (from the US, as far as I'm aware) with garlic and spices. Not really matured, but very delicious, even without any of my several mustards. Should be available in a number of countries now, I found mine in a German supermarket.

Yesterday, I treated myself to a fresh French baguette and to some cheese:

Cheeses purchased included a single, solitary blue, the classic Roquefort from France.

Hard cheeses comprised a goat's Gouda with truffle (from the Netherlands) and a classic aged Comte (from France).

Semi-soft and washed rind cheeses comprised: Camembert Rustique (from Normandy, in France), Délice de Bourgogne (a glorious, triple-cream cheese from Burgundy, in France); others included some gloriously oozing, almost liquid, St Nectaire (from France), Pont l'Évêque (also from France) and the fabulously aromatic Munster (yes, from Alsace, also in France).
