  I think I'll see were I lie about a case a few weeks after the launch. The iPhone is meant to be shown off, I think, and so, if it starts scratching or noticeably scuffing,
  then yes I will be investing in a case, if not, I'll be showing it off in all it's naked glory.

  I think if I was to invest in a case for the iPhone 3G, it would be different to clear. Possibly a nice leather holster-type one, just for pocket protection.

  The App Store, what can I say. Combining the power of the SDK, Apple's Interface Builder with UI regulations, and thier submission process, I highly doubt we will see poorly designed applications, and this excites me, greatly. If the app store becomes what I envisage it to become, which is a hub of quality, functional, attractive applications for the iPhone OS,
  then I will be a devout customer, as I am with iTunes for Music and video content, currently.

Which model colour are you personally eying up?

  I'm currently eyeing up the 16Gb black model, although I keep telling myself, the white one would be a nice change.

  The iPhone 3G could do with a better camera (Megapixel-wise -- possibly 3-4). Most phones here have 4-5mp now.

  Yes, I think there will be a few surprises in the form of unknown bundled applications within the 2.0 firmware, which have yet to be announced at any of the events

2 years now. Switched over from T-Mobile since T-Mobile's data network at the time was PATHETICALLY slow. I've been generally ok with AT&T although it was MUCH better when they were just Cingular (pre-buyout).

Not yet, and as someone else stated, I haven't seen any Apple ads at all. I suspect we won't see them until the day of launch at the earliest- it doesn't seem to be Apple's style to put a notice on the ad of "available in 2 weeks" or whatever. They'd want you to be able to see the ad and immediately run to the store to pick one up.

Right now my answer is no, but that could change. I want to be able to let the beauty of the iPhone stand on its own. If by some chance the plastic back isn't overly scratchable, great...

Most likely not. I wouldn't put it on the front anyway since the screen on my iPod touch has held up incredibly well without one. I have an InvisibleShield on the back of my touch, but the corners tend to stick up a little and it's far too much hassle trying to get it perfectly on there. Plus it'd dull the glossy look of the back.

Absolutely. I'm going to definitely pick up all the free ones that appeal to me, and I'll definitely be buying a few games at least (probably Monkey Ball and Spore at least... though I imagine Spore might not be out until September)

Pretty sure I'll go with black. The idea of a white phone just doesn't appeal to me, really. Maybe they'll have them on display on launch day so I can say for sure, but I'm sure my mind won't change.

Honestly? In terms of hardware I think the iPhone now has pretty much all I'd want. I was really hoping for GPS to come and that's already in there. If I had to say something, then maybe an upgraded camera with video recording. I don't really care much for the front facing camera.

I'm thinking there's a high possibility that there will be a few unannounced things that will pop up (like the remote app that's been more or less revealed from the iTunes 7.7 beta), but I don't think there will be anything really earth shattering. I remember when I preordered my original MacBook Pro that they gave everyone a free processor upgrade for free before they finally shipped, and deep down I've hoped they'd do the same with the capacity on this being bumped to 16GB and 32GB from 8 and 16... but that's just a pipe dream

Better camera. I love the idea of MobileMe and uploading pictures but I feel like the iPhone camera is not good enough to use for regular picture taking. I would rather have my digital camera that I can take better quality photos with for printing later.

I think there might be a few apps we have not heard of yet, maybe something from Apple and maybe MMS (from rumors in other threads). I won't be disappointed if there is nothing new though; I'm quite happy with what has been released so far.

by that logic, we should say why do people want internet on the iPhone? or music? or a photo viewer? or movies? or 3rd party apps? or GPS?
It's the iPHONE afterall, not the iDoEverything

the fact is, more and more people these days use their phone's cameras to take random pictures while they're out and about, instead of always carrying around a higher quality dedicated camera. While I do like to carry my dSLR with me a lot, the majority of people certainly don't want to- they don't even want to carry a compact camera... just the phone.

I would be happy with the current 2MP camera on the phone if the image quality was improved. The hope for me is that if they increase the resolution, somehow they'll also have improved image quality along with it, although I know the 2 are not directly related.
