Silly me  Yeah, nice one. Maybe it'll be fair and balanced, you never know

Fair and Balanced is a heck of a lot better than left wing MSNBC - like that is a news channel. I hope they include O'Reilly, Hannity and Megan Kelly as well.

I'm from the UK and things are done a little differently over here.

News services shouldn't offer an opinion on what they are reporting... they should simply report the news.

The first time I watched Fox 'news' I was taken aback. It was like they were telling me what to think... and what they were telling me was absolutely abhorrent.

I don't support the Democrats or the Republicans, they are both terrible parties. If all the news services support one side or the other, how is anybody supposed to gain an unbiased view of what is happening in the world?

It doesn't matter if the Daily is left-wing or right-wing, if it's Rupert Murdoch's baby, I won't be reading it. His monopoly on the world's news needs to be stopped.

This is a great first step in getting things in place for other publications too for a model like it. Regardless of personal views, this is a good thing.

I will certainly be a loyal subscriber and love News Corp for their fair and balanced reporting, unlike most other news media outlets.

So you guy's idea of 'Fair and Balanced', is the same thing as right wing propaganda?

The BBC is 'Fair and Balanced', Conservatives say it's Liberal and Liberals say it's Conservative... So It's neither... Exactly as it should be.

Fox 'news' on the other hand, is so right-wing it would be Hitler's favourite show.

I think its absolutely repulsive when people compare Hitler to anything these days. Give me a freaking break. Hitler committed genocide, Fox News produces media.

I was comparing Fox News to Nazi propaganda, not Hitler himself obviously.

Which is a pretty fair comparison, seeing as they literally call for the execution of foreign journalists that they don't like.

Personally I consider that insightment to murder, but apparently it's just 'news' reporting to Fox news.

I think you need to lay off the coffee.

i've been reading on google news this morning, and seems some people think it's possible the ipad 2 will be announced a week from today at the Daily's unveiling. obviously if steve jobs is there it means something, as he wasn't even at the verizon event yesterday.

i hope they show off the daily then do "one more thing" and announce the ipad 2, for a release a week later. that would be so awesome. wishful thinking, i know.

but honestly, it doesn't seem that far-fetched to announce ipad 2 at that event. seems like it'd be the perfect time to do it.

I'd like to know how to the two things have anything to do with each other? There is nothing about "The Daily" that would require an iPad 2. It's not like "The Daily" will suddenly revolutionize anything. It's just another way to get information you can already get via paper, TV and the Internet.

SJ doesn't often lend his presence to third parties. Sure, traditionally at MWSF other companies' CEOs would come on stage, but for a stand alone event, it seems like a big deal. I keep trying to imagine why, but haven't come up with any good reasons. Yes, I too think iPad 2 will be announced then, but there has to be more of a reason than just that.

Maybe it's because the future of Apple is more aligned with mobile computing and Steve's trying to promote that as much as possible. Whatever the case, only a week to go!
