According to 9to5 Mac, Richard Branson is launching an iPad only magazine soon too, so I guess you conspiracy nuts have nothing more to complain about.

Thank You For Your Words Of Wisdom

Has nothing to do with free speech.

What, I think is that I find the idea of a potential partnership or relationship with Rupert Murdoch to be utterly repulsive and people should be aware of who it is they are potentially supporting by subscribing to this type of thing.

Do you even have a clue who this guy is and what he represents? I suggest for anyone interested to read the biography written a few years ago by Michael Wolf.

And actually I do not watch, subscribe to or read anything associated with any of his Evil Empire companies and haven't for years.

Mr. Murdoch took great advantage this fall of the supreme court that allows unlimited corporate spending on elections, you know the silly decision we saw earlier this year, the one that lets essentially anonymous donors and donations from anywhere in the world guide our country down whatever path they please.

Watch a news channel that has Sarah Palin as a paid commentator?

Yea, that's a news organization I want to be a part of!

Come on, lets be realistic here, this is disturbing, and if you don't understand that, well, I'm sorry.
Very well articulated. Appreciate how well you wrote this. :)

"Resistance is futile."

There's nothing that allows a subscription where you just get charged every week. The only option now is to keep offering a new issue each week where you decide to buy it all over again.

So the current model = Buying magazines at the grocery store.
The new idea = Paying upfront and getting magazines delivered to your mailbox.

I think it's great.

Actually not true. When I had my Kindle device, I subscribed to a daily newspaper. The money was deducted from my account every month, and the issue automatically downloaded every morning.

Similarly, when I was subscribing to the WSJ on my iPad I was charged every month, and got new content delivered automatically every day.

In both cases I had to proactively cancel the subscriptions to stop both the charges and the automatic download.

When it was only about News Corps people got distracted by the politics.

Apple and News Corp Teaming Up on Tablet-Focused News Service

Although it appear now that the two firms were capitalising on their reputations more than they are capitalising on each other's customers and expertise, the phraseology of the initial reports seemed formulated in what can only be described as an unwise fashion.

Especially considering the Apple founder's proclivities and inclinations, it seemed shocking, like he had suddenly become born again and suddenly anti-Canadian and anti-monarchist/republican.

It seemed extremely polarising, considering the customer base.

We probably feel better now that we can see that BBC and CNN are right on their tails, and that the other Labour (liberal) extreme will be as represented.

So December 9 came and went, and no news conference. Any updates on the Jobs/Murdoch get together?

My guess is this won't be until the iPad 2 launch, especially since that seems to be in the near future. Also makes sense for the timeframe for iOS 4.3.
