Also, Nintendo is having a Pre-E3 event tonight.

Can't say I am overly excited about the show as a whole. I'm not interested in the WiiU at all, and unless Sony or Microsoft surprise us with a new console unveil after all, there will be no notable new hardware.

Software-wise, both Sony and Microsoft will probably try to 1-up each other with some sort of exclusive deals, likely just for DLC if they're cheap. I expect quite some titles shown for the Vita, but I'm not planning to buy one until at least the first hardware revision ("PSV Slim"?). They'll probably push the social networking aspects of the Vita as well, which is something I could not care less about.

Other than that, maybe someone will have an exciting new original title to show, but I'm not holding my breath. Expecting mostly familiar game titles with numbers or silly sur-titles ("Revolution", "Vengeance", "Armageddon", "Absolution", "Unbounded", "Unleashed", "Rebooted", take your pick...) attached to them.

Has anyone else noticed how Sony have really let their Grant Turismo franchise go down the toilet? That thing was a gold mine many years ago, and now we get a mediocre game every 12 years or something? Exaggerating I know, but considering how popular those games were on the PS2, they really should have taken more advantage of it.

All I care about seeing/hoping to see is:

    Forza Horizon from MS
Sony Smash Bros/The Last of Us/PS3 menu overhaul from Sony
Need for Speed Most Wanted from EA
Wii U/Pokemon White and Black 2/Console Pokemon game/New Metroid from Nintendo

    Not really caring about Ubisoft.

    Microsoft E3 was pretty disappointing.

I liked Halo 4 better when it was called Metroid Prime.

I sat and watched the Microsoft conference. I'm sure I could have used that 90 minutes much more constructively. I have a feeling Sony aren't exactly going to set the place on fire either.

Halo 4 looked pretty exciting, I think I'll give Forza a miss, will be picking up Splinter Cell, Black Ops and Gears of War. A fairly decent E3 in total, nothing shattering, looking forward to Xbox Smart Glass, The 360 is nearing the end of its life, can't expect world-shattering things from it anymore.

I got to disagree. I thought Microsoft's press conference was pretty good and far better then last time. They announced a lot of cool stuff and in my opinion people criticise Kinect way too much. It has a lot of potential and I thought the way it was used in the games shown today was pretty good. Smart Glass was really cool and I'm looking forward to using that.

Splinter Cell looked good. Dance Central 3 whilst not my thing was also good. Just like the previous two games. Wrecketeer looked kind of fun and if it's a cheap game on Live Arcade I might dabble in it. Halo 4, Black Ops II and Gears Of War are not my kind of games either but they look very impressive. All in all a pretty good press conference. That said I think they will be out done by both Sony and Nintendo.

MS conference was meh...I wasn't interested in anything shown well maybe splinter cell but I'm guessing it will be on PS3 so thats that...Xbox360 stays disconnected in my closet.

Sony was on the right track until the story book crap which took all the wind outta me.....snore fest but then the last of us put the biggest smile on my face..good stuff.

I wanted more vita but oh well at least we get a full blown AssCred, PS All stars and gems like sound shapes....what the hell happen to Soul Sacrifice:confused: (they showed all the games for the vita before E3 so oh well)

    Nintendo bring it home please...

Games of E3 Impressions (so far)

    Ni No Kuni. - fab
(new gameplay trailer) - a game that continues to impress and one that can not arrive soon enough

Injustice Gods Among Us - meh.
If this was 5 years ago at the start of the current gen, it would look average, but as it stands looks like a very mediocre game and one I'd be surprised if it achives anything but 5 out of 10 kind of scores upon release.

Resident Evil 6 (Leon Campaign) - Amazing Production Values
Yes the graphics and reduction values are clearly on top of their game here. Everything looked amazing until the shooting / fighting / gameplay mechanics kicked in. Very Resident Evil 4/5 in its mechanics, which whilst a massive leap above the previous Resident Evil games still look a little clunky and not very 'natural and fluid'. Especially in comparison to some of the new franchise reboot AAA titles also coming out. Despite that it does look visually amazing.

Street Fighter X Tekken (Vita) - top form fighter!
Pushing aside MK Vita's graphical blunder, here we see what a developer willing to push the Vita can actually achieve. Graphically it looks on par with it's big brothers and Capcom have to be praised. Looking like a proverbial knock out.

Lost Planet 3 - another stunning looking reboot
After what I think was a miss-step with LP2 Capcom have returned with yet another game whose production values are simply on another level. Awesome gameplay trailer that only serves to warm your blood for this Icy adventure. Great voice acting and certainly more of a western look with the characters, this could be another massive game in 2013

DmC Devil May Cry - reboot the hell out of here!!
A game franchise I had lost interest in and after the boring randomness of DMC4 had little interest in, but the new Dante, the new world and the new bosses look amazing. The nightclub fighting section looked awesome and has me looking forward to this franchise once more.

Tomb Raider 3 - open world demo, Microsoft e3 on stage and parachuting demo's.... A genuine diamond and treasure reborn.
Crystal Dynamic have undoubtably one if the best looking games ever on their hands here and one that looks to possess so much fluidity (RE6 take notice), suspense, tension and amazing digital acting that I just can not wait to play this.

Aliens Colonial Marines - e3 multiplayer demo
Despite everything I'm still left feeling a little underwhelmed. Yes graphically it looks great but not a giant leap over Alien Vs Predtor game out not so long ago. It could be a genuine stunner, but fom what I've seen so far it leaves me with nothing but the mpressions it's just another Aliens shooter (not a bad thing necessarily) and a little underwhelmed.

Call Of Duty - Black Ops 2. (visually stunning, but same game?)
Another game which I had little interest in ( I know it's going to sell billions but it's not a franchise that appeals to me) and yet I can not be anything bt impressed by the stunning production values and epic cinematic feel it provides to the FPS genre. The g12 attack looked simply amazing and the level of detail in the environment during the escort mission blew me away. That being sad, outside of the AAA production values it didn't offer me anything 'new' gameplay wise and that for me is the biggest reason why I tend to grow bored with the FPS genre. This will undoubtably be the biggest game 'this year' now everything else seems to be pushed back till early 2013 :) :)

    Crysis 3 - e3 mayhem gameplay trailer
Another looker but another FPS that provides little new to its actual gameplay. Previous Crysis 2 didn't really impress me , though it's clear yet again ths is going to stand as another Technical showpiece for the right hardware. I just wish Crysis offered me more than that, but I find the story and actual mechanics to not do so... Ironically them going from Crytek's original FarCry (sold on to Ubisoft) we move on to

    FarCry 3 - campaign walkthough
Which looks like it is going back to Crytek's original vision of the franchise with ts tropical open world vibrant setting, but ditching the genetic monsters of the first game for the twisted human fascist villians of FarCry 2. An intriguing looking FPS and one that 'may' provide something new gameplay wise, rather than just delivering AAA production values like much of the showcased FPS's his year.

Halo 4 - yikes you have peeked my interest once more Bungie / Retro (whomever)
So after Halo 3, which was OK ( played fab but again didn't really do anything new) for me the Halo franchise has been in a downhill slide. Didn't enjoy the last two games at all and combat evolved was just a prettier version of a game I'd already played. So didn't have any real interest in ths but after the MS conference I must admit it impressed me. The epic scale that the halo franchise often gets right portraying has returned once more and again production values seem out if this world. Will I buy another 360 for it though ? Prob not, but had I kept mine I'd certainly be on this.

Assasins Creed 3 - left me cold sadly.
I don't know why but this years AC doesn't do it for me. The new tombraider seems to do natural survival better, and the running platforming on branches looks like it could be quite cumbersome (they all look the same so how do I know what branch I can run on and what I can't?). graphically it doesn't seem to be pushing the boundaries of the hardware, something that clearly almost every other game at e3 seems to be doing. Don't get me wrong ut could be great, but so far it's left me numb and disinterested.

Generally I think it's safe to say hardware certainly seems to be getting pushed to new heights and after some of this years stunning graphical showpieces - certainly shows the current gen will be going out on a high if next years e3 showcases new hardware from Sony & MS.

So far - need more Vita game announcements and demonstrations. Lacking so far.
Wii U - bring on the 3rd Party games please, heck just bring on the games....

"Beyond: Two Souls" looks pretty hot. I thoroughly enjoyed "Heavy Rain", though I can see how it was not for everyone.

"Far Cry 3" looks very good. I just hope they're not going too over-the-top with it, just for the sake of being extreme. I really enjoyed the calm, realistic, and immersive atmosphere of "Far Cry 2" - one of my favorite games of this generation.

"Dead Space 3" I will probably pass on. I absolutely LOVED "Dead Space", but part 2 has retreated to collecting dust on my shelf after just a few hours of play. Too much loud scripted action, horrible dialogues, forced overuse of F-bombs...the mood just wasn't right for me anymore. I don't want Isaac to be a foulmouthed badass. Third one looks like it's going further in the same direction, and now you have a bantering sidekick as well? No, thank you.

"The Last of Us" looks pretty amazing. Naughty Dog are very competent at what they do, so I have little doubt this will be a solid game.

"Wonderbook" or whatever...meh. Could be fun for kids, I guess?

"Need for Speed".....damnit, Criterion, make another Burnout game already!!

Overall, I got what I expected from the show so far: No new hardware, exclusive DLC deals, lots of familiar titles with numbers or sur-titles attached.
I'm curious about game announcements for the WiiU, 1st and 3rd party.

It had my interest until the Nintendoland thing, I kept wanting to skip forward but then remembered I was on a stream.

The WiiU Batman looked impressive, a definite step up in graphical detail and looks, but I've already played the bejeezus out of it on PS3 and already bought all the DLC, so I won't be buying again.

The new Mario looked pretty good. Looks a lot better than the Wii version while still keeping the classic Mario look.

But unless something substantial comes along I won't be a Wii U early adopter....

Edit: Forgot about the Lego Land game. That actually looked really nice, but not enough to buy the system.

Gametrailers.com have some extra gameplay footage ofa number of announced titles. Certainly worth checking out.

Assasins Creed 3, town/city gameplay footage certainly has addressed my concerns about the more open woodland sections. There is a level of detail in the city levels all beyond the tree footage and looks like it may not be the mess it could have been.

ZombieU (awful name) but the actual gameplay footage on gametrailers actually looks interesting. I like the idea of 1 life, when you die you die. Graphically it looks good too, and I'd be happy to give it a try when it launches.

    Pikmin 3, yay!!
The game I will buy a Wii U for. Nothing more to say really.

SuperMario U ? Yeah looks ok, but didn't scream new hardware as I'd have hoped. Didn't look nearly as refined or next gen as

Rayman : Legacy. Pure beauty and if it's half as good as Rayman Origins were in for a genuine treat.

The Last Of Us is everything I am Alive wants to be. Looks truly amazing, however from the gameplay footage the one thing that jar's for me is the voice of the young girl. She sounds very much older than the character actually looks, and I feel a slight disconnect there, it was like Nathan Drakes girlfriend but looking about 12? Strange for me.

God of War Ascenssion looks excellent again, but other than multiplayer I'm not sure it offers anything additional to the god of war mechanic, and for me GOW never felt like a game I wanted to play multiplayer on. Could be great (nay awesome), could likewise be so so. Single player campaign demo is mightily impressive however.

Batman : arkham city armoured edition on WiiU looks great, but like many here I've already been there and done that. A couple of hours of extra material not found in the other versions would persuade me to re-buy perhaps though.

Halo 4 - Shouldn't they rename the game Sphere - Halo 4? Biggest question, how are they going to kill 17,000 people?

Tomb Raider - Could be a great game in an otherwise dead series (like the new Batman games). Or it could be an interesting concept that quickly runs back home to its roots and becomes fan service. Gameplay demos look good so far (not relying too much on QTE).

Watch Dogs - The first few minutes looked interesting. Graphics were great. Oozed a game where you were subtle and played it almost in the background. Kind of gave me the same vibe the Republique kickstarter did. Then it turned into GTA and completely contradicted everything. I give them credit for have the ability to save the poor guy in the car but it doesn't excuse the fact it just spontaneously turned into 10 guys shooting you and you kill them all in a minute.

Assassin's Creed 3 - Are you kidding me?

Beyond: Two Souls - Can't say without seeing actual gameplay. So far it looks like a CGI action movie.

Stick of Truth - Could be fun.

    Mario - Mario.

Sim City - Not much shown but I'm still excited.

Star Wars: 1313 - Apparently saying a game is dark and gritty is all you need to have some bobble head on Spike agree with you all the while promising that the next game clip will prove it really is dark and gritty. Just wait, the next next clip will!

And everything else just slipped into the generic FPS or generic motion control tech demo category in my head and I can't remember any of it.

Edit: Haven't had much time to go over the Nintendo stuff from today so not trying to ignore them.

So far the lack of vita and 3DS titles have been biggest disappointment,

Also what happened to the new 3DS rumoured to be announced?

Must admit I was not interested in The Last Of Us. Which i thought was a shame because I love what ND did with Uncharted. After watching the gameplay trailer I can safely say that I shall be buying it.

My excitement has gone off the chart since the Sony conference and now the possibility of new macs at WWDC.

    I want a WiiU.

Lego City: Undercover looks awesome as does Colonial Marines. I am disappointed they didn't show a demo of Aliens though. Mario didn't exactly excite me, it really does look just like the Wii version. The TV remote function looks cool, hopefully there's more to it.

Nintendo's event wasn't as impressive as I'd hoped though, they covered everything in their pre-pre-E3 video on Sunday. I'm sure there's still a lot to see before the Xmas release.

And it better be released in the UK for Xmas in decent quantities.

The real question now is: black or white?.....

Me too man... I also want them to develop an MMORPG for the Wii U b/c that's the first controller that can be used as a hotbar

I drove past the LA Convention Center during my lunch break. Flower Street was packed and I saw a few hot booth girls crossing the street. I'm jealous of all you industry guys who get paid to go to events like this
