Grow it out while you're young.

But don't expect to land a job in the future with it. Just the honest truth.

Had a friend who was more than qualified for this internship with a judge. Rejected because of her hair - blue streaks. Told that to her face too. But she refused to undye it. So that's that.

I think dye is different than hair length. Dye can come and go. Getting your hair to touch your shoulders takes a year or 2 for a guy. If it was a good job I would defnitely get it chopped, I don't have a problem with that. But since I'll be college for proabably the rest of the decade, it'll probably be long for a while.

Lol, reminds me of that cousin itch? from Adams family
It's "Cousin It" you're thinking of.

hair

well i am from romania.i have long hair and i have to say this is not looking very good when you walk on the street for ex.i receive harsh words almost every day.there is a sort of vulgarity in our society hard to explain.althoug till now i got the best working jobs available for my experience, thats it field :p.at work place i receive a complex something from my coworkers thats both good and bad.i kind of tend to think keeping my long hair for a while, even if it boders me from time to time.its like a artificial detector for bad environments.when i receive bad things for my hair i found that the environment isnt too good for other reasons.well...its complicated.just to give u an example ,we dont have here a racial discriminations, except for a type o gipsies ,but if 2 gay people would be walking on daylight ,i think here they would be beaten to death.the parents ideology combined with a poor life here and lack of brain i think it creates a dangerous situation at least in bucharest.doesn look that way if you are just visiting ,but you will feel quickly an annoying environment if you stay awhile.:).people need experience with eachother i think...everywhere.

Personally, I think "long" hair for guys is nice as long (ha!) as it doesn't go past your chin. And even then a lot of guys manage to mess it up and make it look creepy. I absolutely hate long, straight hair on guys. if you want it long, give it some texture.

Anything below the chin and I get really creeped out. I don't know how a guy can handle having that much hair.

lolz, it reminds me how my mom wouldn't let me to have any other kind of haircut except crew cut until i was 13. i tried to go emo last year and grew my hair, but my hair's very straight and hard so it was rather high maintenance. besides, the fact that my hair kept poking my eyes + gas permeable contacts (hard lenses) = tears all the time (really emo).

now i just have short somewhat spiky hair. yep, the older folks tend to like my clean cut look better. but i'd say it's your hair so do whatever you want.

i used to have short spiky hair, and then when I got to college i didn't feel like dishing out the dough for a haircut, so I grew it long (right now it's just above my jaw-line, and this after a year of growth! Come on!). A lot of people have said that they really like the look for me, however, when I go places, a lot of time i'm judged poorly because of it. I applied for an office-type summer job and was treated like i was homeless, i suspect because of my hair, and for that I purposely looked at more unconventional places to work. I'm now working at a farm stand down the street from me where most of the guys who work there have longer hair than me!

Especially in the airport, i get some dirty looks from people (mothers, businessmen mostly. The airport employees are always much more personable with me than them, though!) when I have my headphones around my neck or something. "dirty hooligan!" or something like that. Just don't let it get to you. You'll only have the chance to wear it long now, before you have to look respectable or whatever. My english teacher in highschool stopped cutting his hair in college and managed to get it down to his mid back, 2 years out of college, before the administration approached him to get a more "business appropriate" hairstyle.

I must say, it does present more challenges than a shorter haircut. my hair ALWAYS gets in my eyes. It's obnoxious. Especially when i'm driving with the windows down (which i usually do, I much prefer fresh air to AC), or when I'm eating or something, and it's not long enough to put it in a ponytail or something, so when i sweat, it's a mess. I'll probably cut it again this fall, get it short, grow it out again. I don't know how much longer I can stand it though. Maybe, i'll get a fohawk before going back to short and spiky.

I like short hair. Thats just me though.

raggedjimmi- you look strangely like David Spade in that pic

I like having longer hair, but my parents hate it as well. I only get my hair cut to go to job interviews, after i get the job, i let it grow out
