the fact that snow leopard doesn't come with ilife 09

U Got Me :)
My Only question is : what can i do to install snow leopard with my ilife? ( the one i got with my mac)

Put in Leopard Disk 1.

If the OS doesnt recognize the disc, then that's your problem right there.

After inserting the disc you should see an icon on your desktop for the disc. If you DON'T get that, then something is wrong with either your disc or your drive.

Once you've got the window for the Disc open, click on "Only install additional programs" or whatever it says. it will do some work and then ask for disc 2. put in disc 2 and it will finish.

and then you will have iLife on snow leopard, just like I do. Yes, I did the exact same install procedure myself.

You need only put in Disc 2, the one labeled "Applications Install DVD." Open the disc, and you will see a mpkg label "Install Bundled Software." Run that package and click through to install iLife (you can remove options you don't want).

When I tried that, the disc 2 installer said to run the install from Disc 1.

I had to use leopard disc 1 for both of my macs (blackbook and 2009 mini).

well it seems like the 2nd disc (application) wont run without running disc 1. why dont you just do a clean install of Leopard with disc 1, install ilife with disc 2, then upgrade to SL.

"This software cannot be installed"

And what does it mean, after doing the upgrade from Leopard to Snow Leopard when trying to install iLife, I see the error "This software cannot be installed on this computer?"

you've had a £25 OS upgrade, isn't that good enough? why should there be £65 worth of free software included. iLife 09 is very good value for money, stop being tight fisted and go buy it.
