Watch the video, it survived her shower too so it'll be safe to run in the rain for sure.

"Years ago, the iPod liberated us from jogging with a giant Discman. Apple now has the potential to change the workout again. With Bluetooth earbuds paired directly to the watch, Taylor Swift blaring in my ears and the sun shining on my face, I ran for 21 minutes, burning 156 calories. When I ended up at Whole Foods—no phone, no wallet—I bought an iced latte by just tapping my wrist to the reader."

The guy at the apple store during my fitting said it can only control the music on the iphone. He was misinformed i guess?

"Control the music on your iPhone. Or leave your iPhone at home and listen to your favourite synced playlist straight from Apple Watch using wireless Bluetooth headphones."

Straight from the apple website. I don't understand the confusion around this.

I think the lack of interest stems from a couple of things. Bluetooth headphones are still relatively uncommon ...

I'm sorry but what?

I must respectfully disagree. I AM assuming that you are specifically referring to a PAIR of STEREO headPHONES as distinct from the classic Bluetooth headset which is monoaural.

Personally I use my Bluetooth single ear headset to listen to my phone now and expect to happily pair it to my watch. But, regardless, there are MANY bluetooth stereo headsets out there, many of which have great sound quality. Run a quick check on any audiophile site or Cnet. Heck seven years ago I used a pair of BlueAnt Bluetooth stereo headphones to zone out with when writing in coffee shops all day long. Using music stored on the watch - yes 2GB of watch storage - and not even having to have my phone out: awesome!

I said they were relatively uncommon. Of course you can easily buy them if you want to, but it's not as though everyone has them.

It's splash resistant not water resistant. In other words don't get water in the mic hole

Actually it is water resistant, it has the ipx7 rating which means it can be submerged in water to a depth of a metre for 30 minutes (although Apple recommend not submerging the watch at all), so low pressure water in the mic shouldn't hurt it.
I hope there's a Spotify app.

You would think Spotify would be working pretty hard to get one up and running. With Apple about to launch their own streaming service, Spotify would not be wanting to lose customers to Apple simply because they can't control their Spotify music from their watch.

It maybe only makes sense in a gym environment, but I always pictured a Spotify app to not just control your phone app, but actually connect to wifi and stream on the watch itself. At least once native apps are allowed.

I'm guessing the current Music app doesn't have iTunes Radio support, though? It would be nice if Apple, or the legions of reviewers, would release any information about it at all.
