Its because people were streaming which resulted in the carriers going to tiered plans. If only there was an unlimited option which included NO streaming, I'd be all over that.

why is everyone worried that when LTE iphone comes out, we will lose our unlimited plans? data is data...the users who had EDGE didn't lose their unlimited plan when they upgraded to 3G, right?

I have had unlimited since my 3G and I can't let it go.

I almost never even hit 2GB in a normal month, I use wifi a lot.

My reason for not switching is the off-chance ATT lets us keep our unlimited when/if the LTE iPhone comes out this year. I know it is not likely, but if they do let us then I will be very glad I stayed.

On the other hand I have likely just been throwing money away the past couple years, but I guess that's what smart phones are for.

Everyone who has a grandfathered unlimited data plan will keep it, even after switching to LTE IPhones. This is fact, no reason for anyone to wander anymore. You can go buy a 4g LTE Samsung galaxy from ATT today and you keep your unlimited data.

long time un-limited

at&t hit me when i had given up my cable and internet service. i saw no reason for spending the $90 that i barely was able to pay. i was using 8-18 gig a month for as long as i can remember. from that to 2.3.....
the first 2 months they throttled me choked me down so hard i couldn't even use the email app.
live and learn
never will i give it back

HA! Love this thread. I need to hang around the iPhone forum more :p

I'm definitely a member of this club. Only once have I ever gotten close to 2GB (actually I think I went over 2GB that month) and that's because I watched a whole bunch of shows on netflix on a business trip. I'm typically around 500-600MB, but for only $5 I have the comort of mind.

Plus I'm excited about the potential of unlimited LTE and then jb to use my iPhone as a hotspot. Heck, I could possibly get rid of my home internet package. LTE will be significantly faster!

Exactly. In fact the at&t iPad owners that got the unlimited 3g a couple years ago can still be grandfathered in to LTE with the new iPads.

This is definitely part of the reason I'm holding out, to get unlimited LTE later this year.

I am not unlimited, but have a 6GB plan for $30.
Ii is my only source of high speed internet I have and I tether it to my laptop and use it as a Wifi hotspot for the kids ipods.
I use between 4 and 6 gig/month.

Wirelessly posted

Here.

I feel bad though because I only use like 1gb of data a month tops...usually like 500mb. Feel bad for those who have to suffer with limited data.
