I honestly don't know if I still have it. I know I was grandfathered in at one point, but I haven't tested the boundaries to see if it stuck. According to my account features, it says "Unlimited" and makes no mention of a data limit.

What do you mean you don't know you have it? You looked at your account features. It says unlimited, so you have unlimited. What is ambiguous for you about this?

Grandfathered into Verizon's unlimited here.

I'm a heavy data user on AT&T so I've been holding onto the plan as long as I can. There's a good incentitive to stay on the plan now, too. When an LTE-enabled iPhone is released the 'unlimited' plan will jump from 3GB to 5GB of data for the same thirty dollar rate. So $30 for 5GB of LTE data is not a bad deal at all.

AT&T grandfathered unlimited data since the first gen iPhone. I don't use my data plan as my primary internet... so I'm not a heavy user. I have wifi at home and work. I'm rarely away from a wifi connection, so I guess I could go to a lower plan... but can't let go of the unlimited day. Plus... work pays for all my data (including Verizon 4G LTE mifi data), so it's that much easier to keep it.:p

My friend was grandfathered in as well, until he was hit with data throttling for using Pandora too much. I wasn't sure if you upgraded your phone that you lost that or not. One of these days I'll put it to the test.

That's the case right now, but who says they won't change the policy again once an LTE iPhone hits.

Worried about exactly this.

Nevertheless, holding onto it :D

I'll hold onto it as long as I can too, but, I can see AT&T revising their throttling policy a month before the LTE iPhone hits. Either they'll bump it down to 3GB or do away with the unlimited plan all together.

If that happens, I see Verizon running a Double-the-data promo like they are now and stealing a lot of disgruntled AT&T customers.

as a user with a non LTE device, the Unlimited plan has lost a ton of its luster with its price matching AT&T's current 3G plan (at full speeds).

The only benefit is not being overcharged, but that benefit is dashed at being stuck at EDGE.

Grandfathered here also. Never been over 1GB I am ashamed to say because most of the time I am on Wifi...

Grandfathered here as well.

With LTE I think I will start to eat up more data now though.

I was grandfathered just in the nick of time when I got my 3GS in October 2009, can't see myself letting go. I've only gotten throttle once when my Internet at home was messed up.

Was grandfathered on AT&T and now grandfathered on Verizon. I've used 4 GB of data since the iPhone 4s came out but still refuse to be limited in case I do need a lot of data.

Probably don't need mine but I do use my phone for GPS on the golf course, as well as when on vacations, so its nice to have in those instances.

For me it varies ... One month I might be a heavy user and the next month a light user. The peace of mind not having to pay attention to usage is worth holding on too.

You're assuming AT&T will let you grandfather on to a 4G plan instead of telling you since they are different they cannot grandfather you and you'll have to pick one of the new plans ;). You're also assuming they'll move the throttle point up to 5 GBs.

And oh yeah, I belong in this club myself ;). I just like peace of mind I'm not going to get an overage charge. But seeing as my 4 has said I've used about 8 GBS of data since I got it (I got it release day), I really doubt I'll have those issues.

Unlimited on Verizon w/my droid, but seriously considering turning the droid off (when it comes up for renewal) as I find myself using the work iphone nearly all of the time.

Obviously the new iPhone hasn't been released yet so I don't have a crystal ball, but AT&T happily upgraded my unlimited grandfathered 3G data plan on my old iPad 2 to the unlimited LTE data plan on my new iPad. So if they follow the same logic with the upcoming iPhone it will be the case that you can upgrade your grandfathered iPhone 3G data plan to an LTE data plan.

I probably could make due if I downgraded the VZW's 2GB/month plan, but since I've subsribed to Rdio and stream music all day on my phone at work, the unlimited data has saved me a few months.

Plus, with VZW 2GB plan at $30, I have no reason to downgrade since I wouldn't be saving any money.
