I work at a Subway in the mall.

We are crazy busy.

Except, the hours that the mall isn't usually open, but is now because of the holidays, it can be slow. People don't realize the mall is open that late, Isuppose, and don't come in as much.

There is sweet f-all going on at my office too.

The new boss is making some directional decisions today, and the announcement won't come out till after 4:30pm; we're pushing for an option that we've already spent the last two weeks on (so there's a lot of thumb twiddling going on). If he decides otherwise there's a good chance my January is screwed... :( at any rate nothing is going to get done next week as most of us are taking the whole week off.

Subway sounds good right now.

yep today was our last big day, especially after getting yelled at yesterday in meetings. wrap up stuff at me leisure tomorrow and that is it for me for the rest of the year!

Anybody read that article on procrastination in New Scientist last week?
:)

I'll get to it later...

A few more days here at work and I'll be off for Christmas holidays. Woo! Except, I just moved into a new house (and by "just" I mean back in May) and haven't had time to settle in and unpack much, so guess what I'll be doing during my time off? :(

I'm saying... My girlfriend got off today (she's a teacher) and has the next couple weeks off... grr... at least i have a four day weekend.

I've recovered from my massive session working on the project, only 2 hours sleep around 16 hours of solid work.

But now I have to pack to go home, I hate packing. Then I have to stare at the wonderful M1 for 3 hours in my brilliant Renault 5, what fun.

:D Finished at 4pm yesterday, and not back until Jan 7th. Wife is not impressed as she is working until Monday and then back on the 31st...

Anyone else stuck at work and bored to tears? Absolutely sweet f-all going on here. MR is quiet too, and there's only so many times I can read BBC News, Engadget, and The Register.

Zzzzzzz.

Yeah, me too. Damn all happening and I've achieved just about everything that I can today. *snore*.

Anybody think to bring a pack of cards? :p

... at least beer o'clock here is around 4.30

Ugh, Wednesday I spoke too soon. The boss did go with the option we were pushing but wanted it out for the new year. Since most of us are off next week that meant we had to shift into high gear yesterday and try to get everything off our desks by today.

So yesterday I printed out 750 personalized one page notices, help stuff them in envelopes (no time to hire a couple of temps), and create 888 pdf versions of said documents to upload to our website. I was here till about 7pm, but today there really is nothing to do except check that the upload went smoothly.

I'm looking forward to a good Rusty Nail after work and the next week off!

For the 2nd year running

I get to pass the time waiting for my luggage since it wasn't at the airport when I got off the plane.

Also hoping for honest people who will return my lost iPhone(after only 2 weeks of owning it!), but that is probably lost and gone.

And since there is no blog activity, can spend my time on ebay looking at the ridiculous prices for unlocked iPhones and wandering how I am going to spend $1000 in Delta credit when I have no need or desire to fly to Atlanta(and since Delta doesn't have any direct flights from Europe to Asia....)

As a former employee of Subway, maybe you can answer me a quick question. Why is it, when ever I go there and order a Steak Cheese, they ask if I want cheese on it

Preprogrammed set of actions.

Try asking for a "little bit" of something. Chances are you'll get the normal amount because dude's on auto pilot.

Well, that's me done until 7th Jan :)

Time to take the dog out then open a bottle of something I think.

I had a half day at school today, and I got home at 12:30. I'm going to watch movies and talk to my girlfriend for the rest of the day. She's away for Christmas, so I probably won't see her until break.

And wow, it's freezing in here.

Currently working my day job. It's been rather slow, which was nice, but I start my night job at 5:00, finish up at 11:00. It's retail, so it will be a zoo this late in the season. Ah well. The things we do for money. :p

My last class for fall semester was on December 4 and the next semester doesn't begin until January 14 (my birthday, who knew ) and I have been bored out of my mind....But it still beats school ;)

Christmas slowdown. Ha!

For the month of December, right up until yesterday, I was working 60 hour work weeks processing mail that the computerized sorters can't do.

Worked a bunch of 12 hour shifts, plenty of 10's, and a handful of 8's. I'm glad the christmas season is done with, as I can go back to my 30 hour work weeks with two days off again.
