Well, I didn't buy these ripoffs.

They removed the ports, it is reasonably to be expected that they include adapters. Others do so too. My head phones came with a large jack, they included a adapter to mini-jack. They removed the jack on my iPhone, they included a mini jack-adapter. The motherboards I bought came with DVI adapters. All premium product I've bought came with reasonable adapters for standards still in use. My Macbook Pro 2011 included an adapter. Apple just started nickel and diming people to the MAX and you are prasing them for it, like it is a good thing for you.

You paid for all of those adapters. The fact that they were included in the box doesn't mean they were free. You still paid for them. That's the part you're not getting.

This is really a non-issue. Apple isn't stupid and knows that you're buying these for a product you already have likely a million USB charging bricks for. The amount of people that own zero of these things and only, say, a Touch Bar MacBook Pro are incredibly slim. They're assuming like 90% of people have a thousand of those things already hanging around.

And as for USB-C, again, another non issue. What are they going to do, put a USB-C cable in there for the smidgeon of users who have that, or put what a great majority of people already have? Apple is smart, and you're smart and I'm sure you can figure out how to charge them, having probably owned many iPhones to date.

I've bought a few pair of $125-200 BT earbuds (returned all but one pair). None came with a charger, just a micro USB cable. That seems to be industry norm. Apple deserves a slap for being chintzy at times (like not even a single USB to USB-C dongle in the new MBP) but here they seem to be on par with similar priced BT buds.

I don't know any wireless headphones that come with a charging brick. And they are mostly more expensive.

Calling ******** that if you want the Airpods you don't already have a lightning cable to connect to your computer or a wall charger that can be used with the included cable.
It's think Apple has been holding back. My original iPhone came with the phone, earphones, sync cable, wall charger, and even a cradle for the iPhone. They don't include all that stuff anymore.

My LG Tones from 4 years ago included a wall charge with an attached micro USB cable.

Yes LG Tones did 4 years ago but current model LG Tones do not in fact any Tones After the Tone Pros do not come with a charger, I have owned every set of Lg Tones that have come out Only the Original and second gen models came with them.

Copy that. I keep fixing mine so I have no idea what the current ones come with. How do the new ones compare to the originals? How do the new ones compare to the Bose soundports?

I agree that it was bad for Apple to ship the new MBPs without a USB C-to-lightning cable. I guarantee a lot of people open the box and are incredulous that they need to go find a cable to connect their new $2,399 (or more) MBP to their new $649 (or more) iPhone.

On the other hand, I can't think of a single example of someone who would be using AirPods but wouldn't already have a charger.

I think if it's a device that requires a daily charge, then a power brick is essential. I do not know if the AirPods case is a daily charging device yet, but it certainly sees like they are.

I only paid for them if it affected the final price. Since they cost $1.999 and not $2.001, I'm quite sure I didn't pay for them.

Umm, just about any of them? All of my Sony ones did.
Sony, the guys that brought you memory stick pro duo's? basicly a proprietary sd-card with a proprietary price tag. The rolly (don't remeber that?) or the ludacris expensive quick car charger for the Experia that did noting but charge at 8W for €40.. not so fast but relatively expensive when compared to a more powerful Anker for 9 bucks.
Not relatively expensive was the Sony Ericsson Black Diamond at $300,000... remember that one!?!
So don't get me started about Sony or do I need to rage about their abysmal after sales service?

It does affect the final price. Of course it does.

It affects Apple's profits; it doesn't necessarily affect the price. I doubt Apple deliberately saves $20 on the internals of an MBP when it ships a cable with it, and MBP prices always end with 99.

So why would you have bought any of these if you didn't like them or were to expensive? And no, didn't have any hardware that used MS, no idea why what's a rolly, and no, why would I buy a car charger specifically from them? And who cares about a phone that's 300k?

As the OP notes the transition away from USB-A, I'm thinking it's wasteful and unnecessary to include the Lightning cable with AirPods. Millions and millions of them will be purchased by the sort of Apple consumers who already have iPhone Docks and genuine Apple cables in two lengths. :D

This.

I have so many lightning cables laying around I didn't even take the ones included with the AirPods out. So environmentally unfriendly.
