Here in NYC I text and drive all the time. I check my emails and drive all the time. I play Ragdoll Blaster and drive all the time. I have not yet gotten a ticket or crashed while on the streets or on the FDR. I credit my acute mind and reflex for this.

Yah, the question is what will your loving survivors debit?

It's just this kind of attitude that gets people killed.

I read my texts while driving but pull over if I have to text something important. I have a lot of trouble driving stick and putting together something coherent on my little phone without driving very poorly.

That is just stupid. It is just asking to get into a wreck. You more than likely have had several close calls.

Don't forget radios and A/C, as you might be tempted to touch a button or knob. It will utterly bamboozle you and you will crash and die. And we can't have other people in the car, either - someone might say something and distract you. Stick shifts, too, because they make you take one hand off the wheel for a second or so whilst changing gears.

I always get bother that people throw in those arguments. Many of those things can be done if one use common sense. Eating on a road in the middle of no where. yes I tend to eat while driving in between cities but then again it is that no real traffic and things I can do while not looking. I am not crazy enough to answer a text though.

The stick shift one is just plan stupid. Sorry I will not give up my manual ever. It has gotten me out of more tight spots than into any. Being able to down shift to a lower gear on demand is grat

Nobody mentioned on-board GPS. Somebody is lost and looking at a tiny screen for directions! Yikes!

Doing anything to distract you successfully while driving a car (not causing an accident) is not skill or good reflexes, it's dumb luck. It will bite you. It only takes one time. You could be 2,000-0 today and dead tomorrow.

Hey hey GPS on=board works great if some one knows how to use it. It is not lets read the GPS device and follow it. I have one in my car and I treat it more like I treat my gauges on my car. It gets that quick glance to get the very quick information I need off it For me that is glance for miles to my next exit. I use the sound of it if I am not sure where I am exactly going for my cues on when to turn. Then get any missing information at a glace. I have seen people try to follow it very closely and it drove me crazy.

Texting while driving is just stupid. My sister spun her car out. I learn my lesson y having a very close call. Now if I get a text message while I am driving it gets the glace over in a quite location if I am driving (no cars around straight line) and if it is more than 3 works or so I put it down and wait until a stop light or I am pulled over then I respond.

As for talking on the cell while driving again any convocation I am going to have can not be in debt and normal trading information like direction or I will be there at *blank* time. It can not be in debt convocation because that takes the attention off the road. And when traffic picks up the call ends.

People need to learn to use common sense when driving. Eating while driving needs to be in a location where it is quite. That being no real traffic. Long distance highway driving it works great for but throw in traffic that is the end of eating and drinks for me and should be for most people. It takes to much of the require attention off the road.

Common sense should be a requirement to get a DL these days.
