Does anyone know the following:
If i already have the GM on my device, will iTunes still say there is a newer version?

The funny thing here is that as if people dont know or never notice the pattern Apple uses with updates they always release them at 10AM i just dont get why so many questions related abt the time
Except as it was shown the major updates didn't actually come out at that time perhaps aside from one that was a little after 10.

My question is, how does Apple get the OS on the phones, when the GM has only been out a week or so, and these phones have been in productions for what I assume to be at least a month or so.

Internally, Apple is a few months ahead software wise. They were on the GM at least 1 month before it was seeded to developers.

Which means they've had the public release version for quite some time (and the fact that they are already onto 7.0.1, 7.0.2 and 7.1).

As many threads discussing that have pointed out, GM is the releases version so there isn't anything to update to (unless there was some unlikely last minute fix of some sort, in which case it will likely be released as 7.0.1 and you'll be able to update to it).

I'll be waiting until I get my 5s :p, my 4 is too laggy as it is with 6.1.3.. Would rather have my first impressions with a new phone and the full experience.

Me too - I'll update my iPad mini, but will likely not worry about my 4S. 5S is only a day and a half away anyways! :D

Does anyone know if people on the GM can do an OTA update to the official iOS 7 when it's released? I'm hoping I wont have to connect to iTunes to do it.

I was under the impression that the GM is iOS7... so if you have the GM installed there won't be an update until 7.0.1 or whatever, and that would be OTA.

Or you could install it on you iPhone 4 and have a few very laggy and crap days, they when you get the 5S the difference will be astonishing and you will feel even more happy?

FINALLY!!! IT HAPPENED!!

The clouds are gone and the sun is out.... gonna be a great day!

I wonder how well will the ios 7 native mail app will work with my godaddy POP mail account? If it doesn't work, I would have to upgrade it to IMAP at about $80 a year in order for it to work. The POP mail keeps failing at sending mail via my ip4 and even 3rd party mail app Sparrow which is real nice.

I know the problem is godaddy and not the phone itself but no matter how many times I added POP and STMP out ports, none of the outgoing ports work.

Maybe ios 7 may fix that??

i cant wait for IOS 7 i got the iphone 4S

i be doing my upgrade by I tunes
