Ordered a Sprint 16gb 5S in Gold tonight. Had a white one ordered all day then changed my mind. I wish I would have just got up and gotten one locally, since now I'll be waiting a loooooong time for it.

Got exactly what I wanted. Walked into my local Verizon store 3 hours after it opened and got Space Grey in 32GB. My first ever apple launch day product.

Same here. I had ordered my online originally and it was to ship by 9/24. I decided to drive to my local verizon store on my lunch break which was 5 hours after opening. My expectations were low I expected to walk back out with no phone. I asked if there were any 5s phones and he said only thing left were all 3 sizes of the space grey like it was a bad thing. So 20 minutes later I walked out with my new 64 gb space grey 5s. Very surprised and happy. So far I live the speed and the fingerprint sensor

Yeah. I called before I got there and they said the same thing. "We only have grey in all 3 sizes" and sighed. I was hella happy lol. The phone is insanely fast.

Yeah it is. I sold my 5 before launch and had been using a 4 for a week on mog what a difference. It's like going from a lil car to a sports car lol

Wasn't going to get the 5s this year but had a 4 and a 4s that the kids were just using to play games and figured I would take them to the store and see what I could get for trade in. Well I ended up getting $370 from Best Buy and got the Space Gray 32gb off contract. Problem with best buy and radio shack is they charge $50 more for the phone than apple or ATT so really $320. Figured might as well because next year they will be ancient, the 4 already is. Liking the phone so far. Did notice the screen a little yellowish when I turned it on so might trade this one for a 64gb if they get them in stock. Wonder what the Best Buy return policy is on this thing. 15 days right? Any restocking fee? Hope not.

You do know Best Buy price matches right???

I canceled through Apple and had to wait a couple of minutes to order again through Apple. For a couple of minutes the upgrade was locked.

I'll have to head down to att and see if they have a phone and can guarantee to get the upgrade cleared quickly. Wonder if the fact it's Saturday will screw it up.

Curious to know if anyone who ordered from Apple in US and has the 1-3 day ship time has seen movement yet. My order still shows "processing" with the 1-3 day time frame. I am thinking movement on Monday or perhaps Sunday if they come from China.

At 12:02am on Friday, when the Apple Store came back online, I placed my order for an iPhone 5S, 64GB, Space Gray on AT&T. It showed 1-3 days for shipping, with arrival between Sept 30 and Oct 2.

Later in the afternoon, I went to Fry's to pick up a couple of movies. As I approached the front of the store, I saw a guy walking out with an iPhone 5S box in his hand. Hmmm, does Fry's have stock, even this late on Friday? Inside, there wasn't any sort of line in the mobile phone area. I approached clerk at the mobile phone desk and inquired about availability of the iPhone 5S. They had 16GB Space Gray on AT&T and that was it.

Well, if Fry's still had some in stock a good 6 hours after their doors opened, maybe the nearby Apple Store might still have some. I gave the Apple Store a call. Yep, I was told, they have every capacity and carrier still in stock EXCEPT Gold. The gal told me the line was reasonably short.

It took 10 minutes to drive to the Apple Store. There were approximately 50 people in line. As I approached the entry to the line, an Apple Store rep asked me which model, color, capacity and carrier I was interested in. 5S, Space Gray, 64GB on AT&T, please. I was handed a card with that information. I only had to wait in line for 10 minutes! The line moved REALLY fast. While I was in line, I used my iPhone 4S to cancel my online order and I called AT&T to confirm that my eligibility had been reset. It all went extremely smoothly! Inside, with a rep, it took another 15 minutes or so to purchase the 5S and get activation started.

I would have NEVER planned to go wait in line at o'dark thirty! But to walk up to the store at 2:10pm and walk out at 2:35pm with new 5S in-hand was excellent! Apple really has got these iPhone premiere days down to an art form!

Help me understand if this is normal??

I decided to forgo waiting in line at all (damn kids) and order online... Thankfully my husband was in Japan for work, which is 13 hours ahead of us on the east coast. So at 3am our time, he was able to order me a 32GB gray iPhone on ATT through apple.com. The order says 'available to ship 1-3 business days' but with an expected delivery date of Sept 30-Oct 2'. I am rocking an iPhone 4, so I haven't been involved in ordering a new iPhone in a loooooong time. Is this normal?? I would think that if we ordered it right away, it would ship out sooner, and the delivery date would be sooner?? Just looking for some clarification so I can understand the process :) Thanks!

No movement on my Gold Verizon either ordered at 1201 with a 1 to 3 day shipment time and expedited shipping

Anyone knows if they deliver on saturday? Home was locked yesterday. They left a note saying they will try again tomorrow. But now its showing:
Scheduled Delivery Updated To:

Perfectly normal. The phone isn't shipping from an amazon warehouse a few states away, god only knows where your iphone is right now. China? Warehouse? I think they over estimate the time it takes because literally every single product I ordered from apple has arrived before the original delivery date.

On another subject, hubby still in japan? Wanna hangout ? Just kidding!!!!

Launch day iPhone 5s owners thread

Were you lucky enough to score a 5S on launch day? Welcome to the club! Share your experiences, dislikes and such here.

I personally got a Space Grey 16GB iPhone 5s. There was no gold in my city (none got delivered in time) and the silver was very limited. Also, most stores in my city (including the apple store) got less then 20 iPhone 5s. I saw carriers turning away customer lineups stating "we have no iPhone 5s's, just 5C".

Yes, most here are currently seeing this status, but it varies from product to product over the years. Perhaps all phones in NA are at brick and motor stores or carriers and that most if not all Appl.com orders are being built and will be on a plane (from China) early in the week. That is unusual.

Unless you paid extra, I don't think anyone delivers on the weekend except the post office and Fedex home (there are two fedex orgs). You may be able to call the number on the slip and pick it up at the local office (or have it delivered to a local UPS/Fedex store for you to pick up anytime the store is open).

I ordered a gold 32GB AT&T phone at 12:01 PST on 9/20 and my order still says processing on Apple too. But, I just checked my credit card's pending charges and the full price of the phone started to pend this morning. I hope that means the order status will change on Apple soon.

Verizon just charged my Amex for my 3 Gold 5S. Looks like everything is on track for the 9/24 date that it shows.

I'll be returning the Gray 5S's that I bought from Apple yesterday.
