my perfect setup can't wait

Well I just spent $4.99 for this app but considering that I make 80% of my major purchases online, it's well worth it to me.

From the looks of this, it looks quite promising. Order confirmed at 3:03 AM EDT with an estimate of 1-3 business days. When it does ship it'll take no more than 2 days to get here even if "expedited" shipping goes by ground.

I just need to get it before Sept 28th as I'm heading out of the country that afternoon.

I was traveling this morning so I didn't get to wait in line like I normally do on launch day. After I got home around noon I called a few stores in the area and they were basically sold out (some had Sprint). I called one last Apple Store around 1:00PM and the guy said they still had a line and were handing out tickets. I rushed over and got in line. 25 minutes later I left with a 32GB space grey AT&T 5S (the exact model I wanted). A very streamlined process this year!

And for those wondering. I bought the phone at full price and plugged into my Mac when I got home. iTunes launched and immediately said that my iPhone had been successfully unlocked. So, while Apple is officially selling factory unlocked iPhone 5S yet, if you pay full price on AT&T, iTunes will unlock it.

Went to my local Verizon store at about 5:45am this morning and was actually the 3rd person in line. As it got closer to opening time, the manager of the store came out and said we have no gold but have plenty of space grey and silver in all the GB's. Once the store opened, they were serving 11 people at a time and I was in and out within 15 mins. I picked up the space grey 32GB.

I've always owned delivery status touch for UPS/Fedex tracking etc. But what is app parsing to figure out where the "order processing" is taking place on an Apple order? I don't see it on the Apple regular order details page. Maybe something encoded in the order id? Strange...

That's just delivery status touch but with the order number and email entered into the app for the order.

I understand that but Apple itself on its order detail page doesn't show the processing location. How does delivery status touch figure it out?

Well cancelled my apple order, took a chance and went to my local ATT and was able to get the space grey 64 g. I wear a mophie case anyway so color was irrevelant thought gold would have been fun. But was nice, no line, in and out in 15 min. Used the next so only had to pay 70 bucks. Will pay it off in a month or so when an iheritance clears probate. But nice not putting almost 600 that included applecare, but will spend 100 on apple care here in a sec.

64 GB Space Gray unlocked from Apple. I slept through my 2:59 AM EDT alarm and did not wake until 5:20. 7-10 days shipping.

But initial delivery estimate was Oct. 7-10 and now it has already slipped to Oct 10-16 delivery.

A bit disappointed but I'm not in that big a rush.

I downloaded the app and entered my order and email address.

A couple of things happened. I received and email to reset my password. I ignored this and deleted the email.

Secondly it suggests the iPhone is located in Ohio. I have a Oct 11th delivery date. So I am thinking that this Ohio location is a known Apple warehouse that Apple ships from and so the software really doesn't know where the phone is, it's just guessing.

I gave my spot in line to an old man with a 3GS since I initially went during my lunch and was 8th line, but my AT&T store near my work was processing order 1 customer at a time so I ran out time during my lunch. decided to try my luck after work and found another AT&T which still had a lot of 32/64 waiting to be sold. low and behold was able to get in and out in 15 mins without the need to campout

I am getting really nervous.

I went by best buy today and they said that had gotten their shipping notification for some Gold 32GB phones and they could reserve one for me. They said they should get them tomorrow or monday at the latest.

Got home and had a guy respond to my CL ad for my 5 so I went and met up with him and sold it, but now with all the stories of their being NO gold iphones out there I am wondering how long I am going to be without a phone. :(

Fingers crossed that they do end up with a shipment tomorrow and I can be one of the lucky launch weekend gold phone owners.

I was number 12 in a long line for the Santa Rosa Apple store today. I joined the line at around 3:30 this morning. The golds were gone by about person 9. Fortunately I wanted a 64GB silver ATT...and I got the last silver one they had with those specs. There was definitely an abundance of space grey which far outnumbered the silver and gold. I felt really bad for the woman just after me who really, really wanted a gold.

Wasn't going to get the 5s this year but had a 4 and a 4s that the kids were just using to play games and figured I would take them to the store and see what I could get for trade in. Well I ended up getting $370 from Best Buy and got the Space Gray 32gb off contract. Problem with best buy and radio shack is they charge $50 more for the phone than apple or ATT so really $320. Figured might as well because next year they will be ancient, the 4 already is. Liking the phone so far. Did notice the screen a little yellowish when I turned it on so might trade this one for a 64gb if they get them in stock. Wonder what the Best Buy return policy is on this thing. 15 days right? Any restocking fee? Hope not.

Wait. I was told if you preordered from Apple. You can't cancel the order and buy from an ATT store becuase the upgrade will be locked up? How did you do this?
I thought other people tried that last year and got royally screwed with the upgrade not getting cleared for 2-3 days.

Ordered a 64GB in Space Grey, from Sprint at 8am, and it shipped at 3pm, with a delivery date of Monday. Currently sitting in Louisville, KY UPS sorting center. It's about 220 miles from my home in Ohio. I have to say that I was surprised at how fast it went out. Has anyone else noticed the carrier having faster shipping times?

ordered over the phone with at&t around 10:30am this morning, took about 10 minutes. rec'd confirmation e-mail around 6:30pm. 32gb gold, estimated shipping oct 21-30. le sigh.

The yellowish screen is a manufacturing effect, not "defect" and it will clear up. It just means the phone was "born" very very recently.

I canceled through Apple and had to wait a couple of minutes to order again through Apple. For a couple of minutes the upgrade was locked.

Waited in line at Apple at 6AM yesterday and was out by 9:30AM! Got a 5S 64GB in Space Grey for Sprint. Extremely happy with it :)
