VZW 32GB Gold ordered via the Apple Store app right went orders went live. Mine is still on "Preparing to Ship" and I even chose Expedited Shipping for $10 when ordering. So much for "expedited" - I will be calling Apple after it ships and getting my $10 back.

Just picked up a blue 32GB 5c after returning my lumia 928, so far I really like it, color is nice and feels very well built. It might be made of plastic but doesn't feel like it, hard to describe it.
Shipping is 1-3 business days. That means that if you ordered on Friday morning, they have until Tuesday to ship.
I'm surprised at how many people seem to have trouble understanding this.

Ordered 64GB Gold ATT and got email conf @ 12:03am Pacific - I ordered from the iOS app starting the process at 12:01:01 am.
Status is still "Preparing to Ship" on Sunday 6:24pm Pacific.
Technically, it was promised to ship in 3 business days, so I guess that would mean they have until Tuesday, or even Wed if you count three days from Friday ...
Still stoked I got one before they went to 7-10 days (or especially October), so I shall wait patiently... well, not really

Of course we all got our Minis on launch day as promised, or some lucky ones even before. With no pre-order for the 5s I'm hoping it was stashed in the states in anticipation of the huge demand.

IIRC, Tim Cook expressed the idea that a customer should be able to order a phone and have it made (in China). I don't think Apple tried to have as little in stock as possible. Maybe it's just storage? Where would they store 10 million phones? I think Apple would like to ship from China straight to you. I don't know anything about a supply chain to understand why this can't be done. Maybe it's just a really big queue?
If you don't like the current ordering system, you should complain. Complaining works.
Also, I was referring to the wireless billing address. I tried to change my order through Apple after changing my address through ATT, and the Apple CSR warned me about what could happen if the addresses weren't exactly the same. The word "exactly" worried me until I received my preparing to ship notice.
I don't have my 5s yet, but when I went to look at them instore it looked much different than in the pics I've seen on the internet. The gold is much more subtle than in pictures. It was ALMOST indistinguishable from the silver ones.
I called Apple after placing my order after accidentally ordering standard shipping. The woman on the phone was super nice. Agreed to update to next day for free. Even though it wasn't an option during the order process.

I agree. At my local Apple store I picked up a Silver and thought it was a Gold until I picked up a Gold and compared the two side by side. Very subtle. I'm really looking forward to the Gold coming from a black 4. Heck my kids have the 5!!! What's was I thinking? LOL
Well this is concerning....I was checking my cc online and noticed that the charges from Apple for the phone and AppleCare+ are now totally gone from pending authorizations. Is that normal?

Mine just shipped! It's in ZhengZhou, China (was hoping it might already be in the US) but at least it's on its way. No ETD.
Mine says: Shipped By: UPS SAVER. Any idea what that means? I didn't get an option (or I missed it) to select any expedited delivery so I'm not sure if UPS SAVER is fast or slow.
