My order of September 21st through Apple for a Gold 5s 16GB just was charged yesterday, order status changed to "Preparing Shipment," and dispatched later that night.
As of now my package is departing China and set to arrive Tuesday the 22nd.
September 21: iPhone 5S Gold 16GB ordered through Apple, unlocked
October 14: Order Status changes from "Processing" to "Expected Ship Date Oct 24-28 Delivery Date Nov 1-2"
October 18 AM: Credit Card charged; Order Status "Preparing Shipment"
October 18 PM: Shipped
So expect your orders to ship soon, though YMMV.

Ordered from AT&T in store on 9/22 @ 11am. Been processing the last two weeks and today finally says shipped w/ USPS tracking information!!
Only took 4 weeks to actually ship, no date estimated to arrive yet.

A friend ordered a Gold 16gb T-mobile version for me on the 17th, it says it will be delivered on 8 - 14 november.. I hope it doesn't get delayed very much or it will miss its ride to Romania

I hope it's flawless. Should I tell her to open the box and inspect it or just bring it sealed? I mean, what are the odds for it to be faulty? I bought my 2G, 3G and 4 sealed and locked on AT&T and they were flawless. I got my 5 here in Romania from my carrier and it was OK also

I ordered a 32gb 5s, Oct. 11 on Verizon. Order Status is "in process", expected to ship Oct 28.
I am finally seeing 5s commercials. Now that they are upping production it makes sense. Still I am waiting on my phone

I ordered (and finished confirmation) my blue iPhone 5c 16GB today. Now I'll just be stalking the tracking website for updates.
The only downside of my new iphone is that I had to go with Sprint to get it. :roll eyes: I am still petty excited, though. We have an ipad that I use pretty frequently, but it is "technically" my husbands since it was his birthday present. I am happy to finally have something of my own!

The Verizon store in New Braunfels had nothing but a blue 5C. The La Cantera Apple Store had a 64 GB Space Gray 5S for me. Offered $151 for my 32 GB 4S (Verizon offered $200). Looking forward to another great 2+ years!
Finally got notification today that mine shipped. I ordered through a Comcast deal that got me two 5S's for my husband and I, a $120 credit on my Comcast bill, plus a $50 Verizon gift card. I ordered with Comcast on September 24, Comcast ordered through Verizon, and gave me an October 28 ship date. The notification I got today had the phones already in Memphis, TN, and they are supposed to deliver on Wednesday.
5S 16 GB silver for him, 5S 64 GB space grey for me. With trade-in from Verizon, we're paying basically just the extra amount for me to go from my 32 GB 4S to 64 GB. Not too shabby. The Comcast deal is apparently localized to only certain markets, we just happen to be in one of those markets.

Transition from "preparing for shipment" to "Shipping"
I ordered my 32 GB AT&T space grey 5S via apple.com on sat. Oct 12th. Mine has also changed status to "preparing for shipment". How long did yours take to change from "preparing for shipment" to "shipped"?

So after holding a 5C today, I placed an order with Verizon. Ordered today, Monday, will arrive on Wednesday.
That's TWO days. Not one Verizon store has the 5S in stock anywhere. I actually cancelled my order with Verizon two weeks ago after I placed the order 3 weeks before that, and still that order had 3 more weeks to ship.
And I actually like the 5C design better. Reminds me of the 3GS, which was just the best frame I've ever had in a cell phone.
