The "I just bought/ordered/got/shipped my new iPhone 5s/5c" thread, [Merged]

At&t

MacMiguel...being old, (I am 72) I have memories that most of you do not have. AT&T is a very old company. The acronym stands for "American Telephone and Telegraph." A rather outdated name for these modern days. When I was young, I worked for NET&T, which was New England Telephone & Telegraph, which was up in the Boston area.

I don't know how it is all throughout Europe, but going through all these posts, I do see numerous ones from "across the pond" that have ordered and received their phones. One from Norway recently posted that they had ordered on the 24/25th of October and have a delivery date of around the 12/13th of November. That's pretty swift, compared to my order date of 9th October and original delivery dates of 18-Nov to 6 December. Yet there are others in the States and all over, who ordered on release day and still do not have their phones...it's really wild.

Perhaps Apple is finally getting its act together and increasing production! Something they should have done BEFORE they released the 5s, in my humble opinion, instead of creating all this chaos.

My last check of UPS tracking says my phone is now in Louisville, Kentucky...which is only 7 hours away from me in Virginia!!! Scheduled delivery is for Monday!!! YAY

I think this should give others hope of perhaps getting their phones earlier than their original estimates...at least I sure hope so!!

Can't wait to play with my new toy!!!:D

Hey thanks for your comment! I look like very impatient about the iPhone 5s, that's because my phone is broken (a galaxy mini 2), I use so much a very known App for messaging called "Whatsapp", It's very common here. If you don't have whatsapp you are the last to get info for plans :)

Please Apple send me the iPhone quickly! :(

wow thats a amazing history! thanks for share. the problem about the stoch, i think, its because the iphone 5c.. i think that apple expect more sales for the "cheaper iphone"...

Good news! Ordered 32 gb iphone 5S (space grey) at the Austrian apple online store at 25th, they changed my status now to "preparing to ship".

Orderd on the 25th

The 16GB Spacegrey just got an update to "Preparing for shipment"
The 16GB Gold is still bring processed though... Will update when it changes!

Miguel, I am so impatient also to get my phone! I have a temporary prepaid phone I am using...OLD one, it is the original iPhone, and there are no longer any apps that will work on it!! Grrrrrrrrr. And you are right, I'm probably the last person to have that Whatsapp! LOL I don't text a lot, but maybe will try it when I get the 5s.

I really hope you get your phone SOON...I said a little prayer that you will. :D

Be sure to post when you get it...I will keep looking and will be very happy for you!

I think you are probably right, Filipe, that is one of the issues that has things delayed for the 5s.

I just hope you will get your "Shipping" email very soon!!! I love to see everyone getting happy when they know their phone is coming!!

mine too is preparing for shipment. My ipad was the same last week and it delivered on tuesday, so that's probably when you guys should expect it.

Very pleased to hear that! Both for you, and of for me, because:

1) It looks like Apple is still shipping to schedule i.e. your phone shipped after two weeks i.e. at the start of their 2-3 week window

2) Orders placed before mine (31 October) probably need to ship before mine can ship. Although I keep refreshing my order status, I'm not really expecting mine to ship before the middle of next week.

hi irishreign, you're the same age my dad would be if he were still around. :) Doesn't AT&T go all the way back to the original Bell Telephone Company? What year did the government break it up?

Yes, it does...I believe it was still "Ma Bell" when I worked for them. But that was way back in '60-61. I think it didn't all break up til around '80 or so?? But I am not sure. If it weren't for all the ancient, crabby old maids who worked there at the time I did, it would have been a cool job. I was only 19 and I loved the customers and talking with them and helping them. That was back in the days of cord boards like you see in the old movies!!! Loads of funny stories of the people we "plugged" into!!! LOL

And, senrab...I'm sorry you lost your Dad when he was so young. My own Dad was 90 when he died, and still I was not ready to let him go. I miss him every day, and it will be 11 years ago this Dec 14th.

You must be near my children's ages...glad I'm still around to watch them growing.
