I did this last year and will repeat it this year. I ordered my Iphone 6plus 64gb Gold on verizons website.
 
it looks like people are only getting through and buying on the carrier websites.

anyone buy one through the apple site?
 
I was able to start my preorder on ATT's website at 11:52 and finished at 12:02 (Pacific). I got a Space Grey 128GB 6 Plus and it is telling me shipping in 14-21 days. I saw a few people got confirmation dates of on or about the 19th. I find it hard to believe they went that fast! Hopefully my delivery date improves!
 
Got mine ordered off the apple app store. :D cut out my number for safety :p

Ordered my wife's 6 Plus 64GB silver with delivery of 9/19. I ordered the same phone for myself but I'm Oct 1-6 since the Apple Store app was messed up most of the night.

Me: 6+/AT&T/Gray/128 - Delayed 7-10 days

Got all those through Apple.com, which was kind of an ordeal. Wife's order took about half an hour of clicking back from errors to get it to go all the way through. Mine took another 15 minutes.

Did it the old fashion way and walked into my local EE store.
Got to go back at 8am GMT next week to get it.

Managed to get a 6 128gb space grey from the Apple website for delivery next week.

What a night. Missed the first wave as Apple.com was not cooperating.
 
When the iPhone 5 came out, had no issues with the App Ordering.. But 3 hours of no access was just plain Fk'd Up Ridiculous!!! No option for new customers on the Apple App, as it was Upgrade Only..

Taking it to the outdoors in line next Thursday Afternoon at the Arden Fair Mall and will see how it goes!
 
Reserved iPhone 6 128GB silver to be picked up from my local Apple Store, 12:00 to 13:00 time slot..

Really happy I managed to get the phone I wanted, and able to pick it up from the store.

I did the same thing at my local EE store in the UK.

128GB Space Gray iPhone 6 Plus for me
64GB Gold iPhone 6 Plus for the wife

I was the first one in the store at 08:00, was told I'd get an email confirming availability from EE. The guy in the store thought I'd be able to pick it up on launch day, hope they have stock!

A quick note on EE UK pricing.

I'm going for a 2 year contract:

128GB 6+ £149.99 up front
£75.99/month for 50GB Data and unlimited minutes/texts

So for a £789 handset, I'm getting a £640 subsidy = £26.67/month over 24 months.

So effectively I'm paying £49/month for 50GB of 4G data :D
