Hi,

I also have ordered a 27" iMac (i7 3.4GHz, 680MX). Order date was the 10th of January, the proposed delivery is scheduled for 07.02. - 14.02.

Is there a reported case in which Apple couldn't hold the proposed delivery time window for one of the new iMacs?

Cheers,
Chris

Hey, just to let ya know I created a specific, "Ordered in January" thread, it's pretty popular, so you should be able to compare and better estimate when your Mac will arrive judging by when the others do.

Actually, I've talked to quite a few Apple reps and they all say that they are seeing the January iMac orders ship out a week ahead of schedule. Also, they are giving everyone complimentary Express Shipping. So once it ships, you'll have it in a couple days depending on where you are.

Ordered my 27"/i7/680MX/1TB FD yesterday at a local Austrian reseller McShark, God knows when I'll get it, supposedly some people who ordered theirs on November 30th haven't received them.

Finally Shipped!

Ordered on Jan 3, 27'' 2.9GHz i5, 8GB, 3TB fusion, 660M, trackpad, wired KB
Finally shipped last night! Estimated delivery Jan 30 woohoo!

21.5" BH PHOTO orders

Spoke to BH PHOTO today.

Told them that it has been reported in this site that other have received their 21.5, I7, 16GB, fusion drive when ordered directly from apple. Of course BH rep was sorry about that.

I informed him that others were getting a free SuperDrive directly from apple for their inconvenience of waiting. I asked him if a SuperDrive can be compt for customer satisfaction and he said that BH cannot do this for me.

He did say that a apple order was shipped to BH on 1/20 and he shows that that waiting order does include inventory to satisfy my requested build.

He thought that that order would be received by BH this week (1/27)

UPDATE: IF I CAN FIND A 21.5-I7-Fusion-16GB LATE 2012 ON LINE AND IN STOCK FROM A DIFFERENT RESELLER, I WILL CANCEL THE ORDER WITH BH PHOTO AND ORDER IT FROM (THEM)

Put my order in

Went ahead and purchased the following:
27" iMac
•3.2GHz Quad-core Intel Core i5, Turbo Boost up to 3.6GHz
•8GB 1600MHz DDR3 SDRAM - 2x4GB
•1TB Serial ATA Drive @ 7200 rpm
•NVIDIA GeForce GTX 680MX 2GB GDDR5
•Magic Trackpad
•Apple Wireless Keyboard (English) & User's Guide

I'm going to be adding either 8GB or 16GB of RAM, I'm not sure which yet.

I was on the fence between fusion drive vs. non-fusion drive vs. fusion drive DIY using the rMBP 256GB NAND unit.
What I think I'm going to do is wait a year for SSD prices to come down to where I could install a faster fusion drive for less, or just install a 1TB SSD (maybe in a year's time?)

For anyone interested, the total came out to $2200 with tax and the added video card.
It's replacing my early 2006 iMac with 2GB RAM, and a self ugpraded 1TB HD, 2.0 GHz Core 2 duo processor (originally 160GB and 1.83 core duo)... and an ATI Radeon X1600 with 128MB of video memory.

I would have added fusion drive...

I have same 2006 Imac as you,2.0GHz,2 gigs ram,osx lion...replaced 5400ram hd with a ssd...Massive difference! Beside's now running almost totally quiet (5400 hd made mild humm) startup and shutdown times are very fast, and opening programs happens so fast i couldn't even clock it.When i buy a new Mac i would always make sure i picked the ssd option or as we get now (fusion)

why does it have a estimate of July to November delivery ?

Picked up my iMac from the Apple store on Saturday here in the UK :) Was scary walking out the store with it though

Processor 3.2 GHz Intel Core i5
Memory 8 GB 1600 MHz DDR3
Graphics NVIDIA GeForce GTX 675MX 1024 MB

Would of liked a Fusion Drive but the 7200rpm is plenty fast enough for me and I can always picked up an external SSD later on. And im just to damn impatient :p

Fusion drive or no Fusion Drive, he purchased a nice computer and I bet he is going to have fun with it for years to come. Enjoy your purchase!

exactally, and if he ever needs that speed he an always by an external Thunderbolt SSD... it's bootable, and he can roll his own fusion drive with it... (if he needs to)... and who knows where SSD prices will be if/when he needs the speed...

I got the exact same configuration, except I opted for the fusion drive. The 680MX benchmark thread has got me very, very excited. It's been almost 10 years since I've had a computer that can play contemporary games, so I have quite a bit of catching up to do.

I have the exact same sentiments about the graphics card.
I've been out of the PC gaming loop so long I don't even know what must-play games I should start playing first.

I plan on adding a fusion drive or 1TB SSD in about a year's time as prices for NAND flash come down and speeds go up.

The Robot Cow has officially landed in the Apple World

Just got my first iMac and so far i'm very very pleased with it. Very fast boot up times, almost no lag, the interface of osx is nice. Well here's what i got

Base 21.5
Fusion Drive
Wired keyboard
Superdrive

Needless to say so far so good, and good riddance to not having to use my craptastic toshiba laptop that couldn't even boot properly lol.

Quick question: Is there any way to export my music from my ipod to the iMac?
Thanks
