13" MacBook Pro just arrived a couple hours ago. Impressive, even compared to the last model. I am very happy with it so far.

Macbook pro is taking forever

does anyone else's shipping from FedEx look like this?

Why is it still in Shanghai after like 3 days?

Just unboxed my base model i5. This is the best computer I've ever owned by far.

I looked it over for obvious defects, and now I'm downloading updates. What else do I need to do right away?

Just unboxed my i7!!!!! It was supposed to deliver tomorrow, but SURPRISE! ONE DAY EARLY!!!!

The SSD drive is pretty awesome! Super fast, and it doesn't make a sound. When I take my old 2.16 out of sleep the fans automatically turn on, and you can hear the HDD spin around. Now it totally quite. Super Sweet!

I had to download like 600mb of updates. I used the "migration assistant" and its doing its thing right now.

Is yours one a BTO one? if yes I think you are the 1st to receive a BTO unit isn't?

very excited!

Hey, this is my second macbook pro I originally had the normal 15" 2.8GHz,4GB RAM,500GB@5400 from july 2009. I sold that for the same I bought it for which was $1800 and put that money towards what I really wanted in the first place which is the i7 macbook pro which I just ordered on the 18th.

With the following configuration:

MBP 15"HiRes Antiglare WS Display
•
2.66GHz Intel Core i7
•
4GB 1066MHz DDR3 SDRM - 2x2GB
•
500GB Serial ATA Drive @ 7200

it my opinion that its the best setup without spending retarded amounts of money for the upgraded ram and SSD . you can always update the ram later for cheaper. and the SSD isnt worth the money yet.

it says I wont get it till the 27th which is really lame because I need to use it:mad:. Hopefully ill get it early like others on here. what do you think?

BTO = Build to order?

It said CTO which I believe means "Customized To Order".

But yes, I custom configured it on Tuesday morning as soon as it was announced. Shipped from Shanghai to Alaska to Memphis to Denver, and they delivered this morning!

Just ordered a new MacBook Pro -

2.53Ghz Core i5//4 GB Ram//500GB HHD @ 5400rpm//Nvidia GT 330M w//256MB.

Very happy! Thanks :apple:

From what I was reading on the "shipping status" thread, I think today is the first day people are starting to receive factory-customized units (i.e. from China). I ordered mine ~6 hours after the site came up on release day and I received mine today (Monday) - one day ahead of the estimated delivery date on the FedEx tracking page.

just got my MBP!!

I strolled into the apple store today and picked up a new 15" high-res anti-glare mbp! It's got the i7 and 512mb video ram. I slapped an SSD in there and this is is smokin!

Some initial thoughts - it doesn't get hot when the graphics is not being utilized. In the couple hours i spent installing software / browsing the web, I was really surprised at how cool the laptop is. I mean its stays realllllly cool. I threw on an HD movie and thats when I started to feel the machine heat up.

the display is gorgeous. The high res screen is where it's at with these laptops. The resolution feels really natural for the 15" size. And the matte screen - I couldn't ask for more.

In addition to what i mentioned, there are so many fine details that really impressed me. I'm not sure if it's new to the update or os 10.6. (this is my first time using a unibody mbp and my first time on snow leopard).

Overall i'm really impressed and very happy with this machine!

I'm psyched!

After much deliberation of which config, ordered mine yesterday:

MBP 15.4/2.66/CTO
Ships: 5 - 7 business days
Delivers Apr 26 - Apr 30 by Standard Shipping
With the following configuration:
•
PROCESSOR 065-9134 2.66GHz Intel Core i7

DISPLAY 065-9149 MBP 15" HR Glossy WS Display
Apple Software - iWork 065-9172 iWork preinstalled

Finally someone puts the 128GB SSD in! Please tell me how it performs? Or if anyone else already has one, please tell me if I should go for it.

Got mine this morning, had to twitch at work all day with it sitting not being able to be played with. Got home tonight and got it all migrated over from my old 2008 Penryn MBP.

Initial thoughts...

I am loving this keyboard, I wasnt sure what I would think but it is great!

The screen is gorgeous and super bright and vibrant colors, in love.

I went from a 15" to the 17" and I love the resolution, it is a huge step up and very nice to have. I was a little worried it would be too big but I think its great!

Speed wise WOW this thing flies. I opened up like 10 apps at once and it popped them all open like it was nobodys business. We will see tomorrow at work when I get the VM cranking and all my usual apps. I am sure it will eat it all up.

Everything seems snappier though, the web, launching programs, etc.

All in all I am very pleased and glad I made the upgrade when I did!

Just got mine yesterday. The fedex guy didnt leave a note or anything at the door but I knew they had try delivering it looking at the tracking site.

17" 2.66 GHz 8GB 500GB I already installed MS Office 98 and Final Cut Studio :D

Just got my first mac ever after frequenting the "I'm waiting for Arrandale"-threads for over a year, woho!

15" BTO with highres glossy screen. Delivery was expected to take two weeks but then that includes the additional time for paying via wiretransfer (+5 days).

Cant wait!

Man I ordered mine on Thursday and it's still not shipped!! The status changed the other day to prepared for shipment but it's gone back to not yet shipped!

I'm curious and have a question for those that recently bought new Macbook Pro's within the last few months, before the hardware update. How come you decided to go with the outdated model, knowing a new model would be just around the corner?

To add to growing list of new Apple users, I ordered the 15" 2.53ghz i5 MBP with over night shipping. :D

first post on MR

New MBP to replace my 2006 17" MBP

MBP 15"HR Antiglare WS Display
2.66GHz Intel Core i7
8GB 1066MHz DDR3 SDRM - 2x4GB
500GB Serial ATA Drive @ 7200
SuperDrive 8X DL

:D Hopefully I'll be receiving it Friday!

Volcanic delay

Aaaaaaargh, ordered on day 13, sent on day 16 and delivery date estimated on 19.

MBP 15" i5 2.53Ghz

Now, we are in April 20, and thanks to the iceland volcano, delayed "sine die", and already paid! :-(

UPS has it in Shangai, yet. (NATURAL DISASTER according to the UPS tracking system) (then it should fly Cologne-Bonn (UPS's european hub) and then...)

Anyone fell in this hole?
