I would go with the new 2011 base 13"....i think the power will serve you well over time
 
My first mac!

Just ordered my new macbook pro!
13" 2.3GHz Dual-core i5 4GB RAM
128GB SSD + magic mouse

Ships March 1st - 7th... its gonna be a long week
 
So any clues on if Apple actually sticks to their 3 business days to ship notification? Any chance it'll ship earlier and blow my mind? I'm going crazy waiting an entire weekend and then 3 more days on top of that!

Someone give me hope please

I ordered the 15 base with glossy hr display yesterday around 840 am pt and still hasn't ship the delivery time 01.03-08.03 I can't take it any more I want it as soon as possible I sold my MacBook two weeks ago and I been using an old PowerBook and it's really slow

Hmmm. I ordered my 15" with hi-res glossy and 128 SSD about an hour after the website came back up.

"Has not shipped". Booo.

I'm sure many of you know about this, but there's a great shipping/order status widget that I've been using...compulsively. :eek:

I just got my new MBP 13" 2010 today, and I absolutely LOVE it!! It's lightning-bold fast, has a lot of cool features and the display is just absolutely gorgeous!
I'm learning to use the new and different features (I had always been a Windows user), and I can honestly say that the only Win explorer feature I've missed is "Cut"... I really don't understand why this is not on Mac OS, but I can get around that easily.
I also love all the possible keyboard shortcuts, they make life so easy.
Also, Office for Mac works waaaay much faster than in Win, which is great for me since my work is mainly based on Word documents.
Love you Mac! :D
 
My CTO is also now "prepared for shipment"...finally. Went CTO as I wanted the high-res screen. My order time shows as 8:04 pst which was shortly after the store was brought up on Thursday a.m. allowing orders of the new Pros. Also my arrival date span changed by a day...was 3/1 - 3/8 and is now 3/1 - 3/7.

Can't wait - coming from a November '06 C2D MacBook - should be a HUGE improvement since I went with the top end 15" Pro. :D
 
Ordered mine thursday, just after the release...

A 13'3 2.7 I7 - standard config... I'm following it on UPS, and now it's in Koeln!! They have ship it from China...
