The "I just ordered / bought / got my new/refurb MBP" thread [Merged]

Yeah standard config. Pretty good config at that.

Even though it's faster than my mini, the mini will remain my main computer with it's dual screen setup.

that would be awsome!!!

yea def keep the mini as the main computer, its a royal pain in the butt trying to plug in and unplug cables especially when ur going to uni everyday and stuff (its what i do argh). get used to it after a while i guess..

you could look nerdy and have two keyboards/mice BAHA..

ugh, why does it say it arrived in IN twice? it still says a delivery date of today by 4:30 pm... i hope it's just their system not updating appropriately :(. after having it in china for 5 days not doing anything, i'm ready to receive my first mbp.
 
Just setting mine up, next day delivery ftw!

Just got off the phone with FedEx... they told me that my computer probably won't be delivered today. And I cannot even tell you how mad that makes me. He said "The only way it looks like it will get there is if it gets to the delivery center later and they are able to make an afternoon delivery." If I don't get this computer today I am calling Apple and getting my shipping money back because that is just the most ridiculous thing I've ever heard. The estimated ship date did not change ONE time since it was shipped and then the day it was supposed to be delivered they aren't going to get it to me... what kind of BS is that FedEx?

I have the same exact status. Doesn't look like FedEx is going to get me my laptop when they said they would... Oh well at least I didn't pay for expedited shipping (sorry Iphone3gcrazed! :/)
Even still, it is quite annoying that they didn't change my estimated delivery. Just seeing that "June 18 by 4:30" is giving me false hope :(

Today I graduate from high school. I was hoping to get my awesome grad gift today, but it looks like I'll be waiting until tomorrow. Oh well, I probably wouldn't have had time to use it today anyway!

I will be royally pissed if they keep it 2 hours from my house, in Newark, for a day... if they can get it to my distribution center (15 minutes away) by 5 PM I'm going to pick it up today. Congrats on graduating... I don't graduate until next Wednesday.
 
Looks like the MBP is on schedule for delivery today by 4:30p which has been the estimated delivery day since origination. Arrived in EWR at 2:35am on June 17, left at 7:16pm, arrived at the ROC sort by 7:56am on June 18 and was out for delivery the same day. (Giving hope to those whose statuses haven't updated yet.)

I called FedEx this morning for this issue. They said it was delayed and will be delivered tomorrow because there was "volcanic activity" somewhere between China and Alaska. Uhhhh huh sure. Anyway, she reassured me it wouldn't be delivered today and told me tomorrow... now I can't seem to get my FedEx tracking # to work. Ugh. This is such a hassle.

Off topic: My iPhone is acting up. It shows no trace of service, or it'll go on Edge after a while but as soon as I do something on it as open a program or push e-mails, it goes back to the five bars and "AT&T" but no E or 3G. Is there a site where you can check down times? I restarted/toggled on/off.

My date WAS June 18th up until today (today is June 18th... how convenient, yet it still hasn't changed in my tracking information). When I called FedEx, the woman assured me that it wouldn't even be at my Local FedEx Facility until overnight so I wouldn't even be able to pick it up if I wanted to and that it would be delivered tomorrow. Truly, truly truly the WORST experience I have had in my entire life dealing with a shipping company. When I get my computer, whenever it is... knowing FedEx they'll say "Oh sorry we can't get it out until the 1st of July"... I'm going to call Apple and I'm going to get my shipping money back as I paid for "expedited" (haha)... This should have taken MAXIMUM 6 business days (1-3 to build + 2-3 to ship) and today makes 7. Tomorrow will be 8. And tomorrow I will be getting my 15 dollars. Good day FedEx and never again will I use your services.

Wow I'm pissed, I am going to call FedEx as well and see if mine is going to be delayed too. :mad:

UPDATE:
Just called, they said it definitly wouldn't be delivered on the 18th and it SHOULD be delivered on friday the 19th.

So what are you going to do if you order from Apple again and they want to use Fedex? Make them use UPS? I don't think so.

When ordering online we just have to deal with the shipping companies. There is no avoiding it. All you can do is hope that everything works out fine. Sometimes they do....sometimes they don't.

I would be upset to if I paid for the expedited shipping and they weren't able to get it here any faster. So you are better off just taking the regular shipping and wait. If you want it right now, you are better off going to a local store and picking one up.

When I said that I meant that I would just never buy from Apple online again. I wasn't implying I would make them use UPS because I know I couldn't. But If I could choose, UPS would be my choice.
 
picked up my 2.26 GHz 13'' MBP yesterday and love it so far :D It replaced my 13'' core duo white MB which was about to have its 4th Birthday

It is, I mean I understand that there are occasionally delays but really it shouldn't take over 6 days for a package to be shipped from China and especially so when you pay for faster shipping (as I did too). I really wasn't expecting a 10 day wait for an order I placed on June 9th... :rolleyes:
 
bought my macbook 2 weeks ago last monday, and what do apple do a week later?!?! bring out a brand new one, i am thoroughly pissed off!
 
Looks like a lot of us were on the 6/17 Anchorage shipment. Ordered my 13" MBP on 6/11, original delivery estimate was 6/18 by 10:30, which was then bumped to 6/19 4:30. So glad it's actually coming in today!
