Just got back from BB with a rMBP 15" 2.0/8/256. Took a while deciding between the 13 and 15 and decided to go with the 15. I'm coming from a Macbook Pro C2D from Feb 2007 and the 13 screen seemed just a tad small for me.

Good choice.

Just got the 13" 8GB/256GB MBP from Best Buy. $1299 minus edu discount, minus movers coupon = $1080 plus tax. Then I had $25 Amex credit for shopping at Best Buy, and BB rewards.

A quick update…man what a difference 7.5 years makes. Definitely happy with the 15".

I wasn't able to stack the movers coupon and the education $100 off coupon. If anyone needs it, let me know. It expires 8/2.

Made a last minute decision...

Had an 11" MBA 2014 and on the 14th and last day I was allowed to return it - I did so, and got the new 2014 rMBP 13". This screen is absolutely gorgeous and I feel like this may be a better machine for programming/ doing other things, especially with scaled resolution to 1680 x 1050 (or whatever the "more space" option is)

Ever since I got the Air, I loved it - but I knew that I was going to drop it instantly if a retina Air came out; the screen wasn't bad but I had a tiny drop of buyers remorse, now completely gone after the new purchase.

Solid upgrade periods; nothing wrong with this. Enjoy your new machine and hey, see you in 2019 :D

Nice!

Just bought a 2013 MacBook Pro Retina 13 (4GB RAM/128GB SSD) from Best Buy for 1099.99 - 100 educational discount - 10% USPS Movers coupon - $10 Advantage coupon - No Sales Tax for a whopping total of $889.99!

Now that's pretty sweet!!!!

So I went to pick up 2.3Ghz/16gb/512gb SSD/750m 15 inch at Best Buy since they're clearing them out for $2350 and I had the student discount coupon and 10% movers coupon. I figured for $2025 plus tax, I'd rather have that version than the new one since Id be saving over $500.

Get there, tell the guy what I want and he begins to ring me up. We start chatting about random things, and for some reason, the sale price of $2349 isn't ringing up so he calls over a manager and overrides it to that price. I then give him the coupons and they took them without problem. I had a $50 rewards certificate so I walked out of there for $2113.xx after taxes plus $200 coming back in rewards points so a net cost of about $1900.

I get home and check it out, its the 2.5ghz version that just came out. Guess thats why it wasn't ringing up at the sale price lol.

Grabbing the Refurbed 2013 High end 15" MBP w/ 750m, Just waiting on my Bill me later to finish processing the payment to put towards finishing paying off what was owed so there's room for it.

Coming from a Lenovo y580, im fairly excited for this.

I was in the Broadwell club.

Then I realised that club was a sad place to be in.

So I bought a new toy. I rationalise it because my birthday is in 4 days.

15" High end stock + 1TB SSD.

Come to papa!

Just bought the 2.4, 8gb, and 256 this Friday to get it tax free! Excited and nervous to be converting over to a Mac.

I'd be interested in the coupon if you're not going to use it.

Is it worth upgrading to 2.8 on the 13" mid level?

I want the portability of the 13" and 256gb ssd is enough for me, definitely ordering the 16gb of ram as I use VM's a lot. It'll be my much needed upgrade from a 2011 16gb MBP.

Just can't decide on the 200mhz extra being worth while?

I ordered my very first Mac this week and expect to receive it this Wednesday (Aug 6th).

I took advantage of the corporate discount that Apple offers the company I work for so I ended up ordering a mid 2014 13inch 2.8/16gb/512gb. This was considered a build to order has I upgraded the memory and thus, this machine is shipping straight out of Shanghai which is making the shipping process longer than normal but I'm stoked none the less! :D:apple::D

Now to do some research on the must have apps to download and setup when I get this machine

Returned my new rMBP to BB and ordered the same machine from Adorama for $17 bucks cheaper and with AppleCare included. A bit of a pain, but worth it, I think.

Just bought mid-2014 MBP 15" 2.5GHz; L oh vee eee it! I'm 90% sure it was made from the tears of angels (not the tears of Foxconn). This was an upgrade from my mid-2009 Macbook (not pro). Very happy about this much needed upgrade.

Placed my order for a Mid 2014 13" rMBP 3.0GHz i7/16GB/256GB SSD to replace my Mid 2012 i7 11" Air! UPS says delivery for Thursday and I'm pumped!

Was in Best Buy for unrelated reasons today, and on a whim asked if they would let me exchange my Late 2013 high end for the Mid 2014 high end that came out last Tuesday. It was 59 days since I had bought it so I had no real hope, but the manager said yes to my surprise. Only paid the difference in cost which was $30 since the Late 2013 was on sale when I got it. I'm pleased, should help a good bit when it comes time to resell, and got another 60 days of warranty :) Great move on their part as they just secured a lot more business from me in the future.
