I love the new rumors out this week about how Apple is considering a return to the 4-inch display.

I'm tired of dropping my iPhone 6 and would buy iPhone mini in a heart beat!

If you're tired of dropping your phone maybe you should consider being a little more careful

They would honestly sell a **** load of iPhone mini's (4 inch iPhones) if they remade and released a 6 mini or so (4.7 inch i6 scaled down to 4 inches)

Next year they can easily make a 4 inch iphone 6s next to 4.7 inch i6s and 5.5? inch i6 S plus with the same specs (Apple A9) and the mini would sell just as much as the other 2 and Apple sells **** loads of iPhones (even more then now)

They would probably give the mini the A8 though and not the A9

Why not the A9 if people want a smaller form factor and new technology?

A 4" iPhone 6s next year would be awesome to people who value compactness.

Unlike the working class like me, if your life is such that you use your phone mostly for phone calls, texting, or short emails, then a smaller 4" iP6s is classier than its larger sibling. It's like driving a Porches 911 compared to me driving a van, or my friend an RV (6+). Sure, I can fit a lot of camping stuff in my van, but the people who drive Porches have people who bring set up tents for them.

I see the A9 getting a 3rd core, or even become quad core. they would probably cut out a core for the mini or just use the A8 in it for power consumption. 3rd core and double the ram will pave the way for desktop like multitasking on them,

Nah it'll come with the A6 chip. :) I don't care if they come up with a smaller option as long as they shore up some of their QC issues.

An iPhone 6 with a 4" screen would be perfect. The best lineup you can have. Small/Medium/Large. I would go for a 4" iPhone 6 (or 6S) in a heartbeat. The 4.7 is nice, but just too big IMO.

I think it's dumb honestly. Too many different flagship phones can come back to bite Apple in the ass just ask Samsung.

How are those rumors of an Apple manufactured TV set coming along?

I seriously doubt this iPhone mini rumor. The source doesn't appear credible and I'd classify it as wishful thinking.

I think a iPhone 5.1" with 2gb ram and less bezel (but thicker) would be a much more popular option.

I would totally get one!!! My 5 is getting a little long in the tooth, and the 5s isn't enough of an upgrade. The 6 is just big enough that I find it annoying. I could handle 4.7" if they just reduced the darn top and bottom bezels!

I'd love an updated 4" iPhone.

I have a 6 plus and still have my 5, and I really like the thought of an ultra-portable 64 bit powerhouse

The only reason I don't trade my iPhone 6 in on a new 5s is the camera. If Apple comes out with a 4"-4.5" iphone 7 with a better camera than the 5s I am so getting it. Woohoo!

If you plan on using a 4" phone (display) just to talk on and nothing else, it is fine. Otherwise it is USELESS for games, movies, and web browsing! Screen is too small. Sure you can text, but if you have big hands like me, your thumbs will get in the way of each other while trying to tap those tiny letters & numbers. just get a flip phone and use an iPad for apps and web etc. A flip phone just might open to four inches!

I could tolerate watching movies on an iPad, but I have never been desperate enough to watch one on an iPhone.

I don't play games.

But I do read, and the 4.7" screen is surprisingly an improvement over a 4". On the other hand if I were to go bigger, I would rather use my iPad Air than make compromise with a 5.5" screen.

So other than reading, I can use a 4" quite comfortably. I suspect that a lot of people older than 35 don't do a lot of the things you suggest on the phone: watching movies, games(that demand larger screens).

Could you share a link because I haven't seen anything suggesting a return to a 4" display. I would have thought it would have popped up here way before now.
