Only condition I would buy the MacBook Air:
The battery life is improved with the Sandy Bridge processors.

Was I the only idiot hoping for news of the MBA Refresh today?
No... I've been hoping every day since WWDC, even with the news of the delay until Lion comes out.
I would really like the 11" version w/4 GB of RAM standard. I'm not fussy with many more requirements, only that I would love a back-lit keyboard and a better display (even though the 2010 MBA already has a pretty good one). I can't decide if I should pony up and just buy a new one now or wait. I need it, but I can wait, but the waiting is awful!
What is really stopping me though is that the 2010s will prob drop even more in price.
I am wondering though If i should get a new one to qualify for the back to school program. What do you get anyway? Are the airs compatible with the deal anyway?

It all depends on what graphics card is in the 11". That'll be the decisive factor about whether to put my current one on eBay or not. If it comes with Thunderbolt, a vastly superior processor (which it will), and even a bigger SSD (which it probably won't), it's still a "no go" without a BETTER graphics card than the one I have now. If it's Intel 3000 HD, I'm waiting for Ivy Bridge for sure. All or nothing. It's got to be the complete package.
