Sorry to call you on that, but I'm ruling out a 200 Terahertz processor in the iPad 2.![]()
If you think it will take that much processing power you need to rule YOURSELF out.

Don't want to pour petrol on the flames, but where are the substantiated rumours that there will be a resolution bump of any sort to the iPad in the next iteration?
The ppi for the standard of "retina" would be virtually impossible.
It's not coming.
This is only the 1st gen iPad, so if retina did theoretically come, devs would pretty much drop support for the original iPad altogether, because all future graphic sets would rely on retina standard.
There will be no resolution bump, sorry to burst your bubble.
I think you mean "pour water on the flames". Think about it. Grazie
I think the display is amazing the way it is
Argh! You people just always seem to forget that if they were to increase the resolution, it would never be a "small bump". Anyone who thinks this is just dumb (sorry but true). When they decide to increase the resolution it will be a double in resolution so that apple can do the same thing with the iPhone and iPhone 4, where apps can be scaled. This argument is old, tired, and been explained numerous times. Get over it, the iPad 2 (or whatever they call it), will not have a retina display.![]()
Such bold irritating statements from someone who, like everyone putting in their pennies worth here, knows nothing about the actual specs of the next gen iPad unless a screen/prototype is leaked or the moment S.Jobs gets on stage to announce it. How can you make such statements? We are all ignorant regarding this...and i work for the company! If devs need to make 3 versions of their app to accommodate various displays, they will,,,,because they have to! If not their app would be limited to older displays, thus harming sales/downloads.
Devs keep up with Apples technology, not the other way around! If you want the pleasure of having your app on the App Store you need to obey the rules....![]()
No, the highest definition media available is vector graphics. E.g. fonts, UI elements, graphs, maps, etc. Those are the things that benefit most from a higher resolution. Why would you want a retina screen on the iPad. The highest definition media available is 1920x1080.
